point. He died of malnutrition

BACK THOSE JACKETS!
President Taylor
Addressed W.M.U.
Dr. Thomas II. Taylor spoke to
the District Seven W.M.U. Con
vention which met In Alpine
Texas Feb. 27. While there Dr.
Taylor also spoke at the high
school banquet and at the meet-
ing of the Rotary Club. "I saw
many H. P. students who are
making good in all activities"
he said.
President Taylor also stated
that Mr. Fred L. Fynn was re-
cently elected to the H.P.C.
Board of Trustees. Mr. Fynn Is a
resident of Harllngen Texas and
is a member of the First Baptist
Church of that city.
o
BACK THOSE JACKETS!
Nice scenery eh Charlie
And speaking of Meddln
have you heard the latest rumor
on his roomie Harry Moratto?
Well anyway it seems that Rev.
Moratto has reserved a room In
the ministerial courts for next
year. Have you heard about this
Bea? All we can say is that's an
odd way to "pop the question."
One of the newest couples on
the campus is Richardson and
Lindberg. More power to ya'
Lonnie we vote! That word
bower strikes a familiar note
what became of that gal who
was the power behind the
throne Just curious!!
'Oif with the old; on with
the new" is the motto of Eloise
Wood as she leaves Guy Joe for
"greener pastures." Felton Mar-
tin was the lucky guy both Fri-
day and Saturday nights.
Then another of our urbanites
Trudif Wilcox seems pretty ex-
cited over tills blond Jerry Bar-
ton. Seems they're together
quite often.
Another of our previously
mentioned "steadies" is Truman
Taylor and Evelyn Roberts.
They seem to be quite contented
with each other's company.
The night was Saturday. Per-
sons involved: Groner Pitts and
Jake Corbett. Oh no they were
not alone but rather the "proud"
escorts of Gloria Robnctt and
"Red" Leach. We will leave Red
in peace and pause for just this
one question "What about J.
B Groner??"
Speaking of the "lovebug"
(who was????) it seems to have
bitten C. Q. several times. What
we want to know is why the
beard.C . Q.? Are you trying to
compete with the House of
Davids or docs Mary like you
better camaflogued.
Wanda Porter sits on the
front porch and waits anxiously
for the postman to bring her a
letter from "him." In case you
don't understand James has
made a trip to Florida.
What's the matter Kenneth?
Don't you love the H.P.C. girls
anymore15 You're slipping two
week-ends on the campus and
no date??? LaVoe doesn't seem
to be crying about the little deal
tho'; neither is she letting grass
grow under her feet (correction
please change that last state-
ment to the past tense.) Since
Friday night she's singing the
same song as of a few weeks
back
"Second verse same as the
first
Could be better
But It's gonna be worse."
Beckham seems to be getting
a lot of the same medicine too
'Twos nice knowing you girls.
"Mert" Hardin is another one
of those unpredlctables. Escort
was Durland Acken.
Jean Bennlng seems to be en-
joying the spring weather from
the front porch of the "dump."
Evi-rytime you look that way-
there she is and for your infor-
mation she ain't (oops) alone
As of late Bill Moore seems to
have turned his atentlon from
his camera to Jean McCormlck.
W must compliment you Bill
on vour good taste.
Everything still seems rosy be-
tween McLeroy and Stone. He
didn't wait 'till spring to start
thinking of love did lie?
All we can vjuv from Gllluin
and Brownlee Is gripe. Gripe
ab ut all the benches being oc-
cupied on date night. We sug-
ges' to Bill 'and George that
th'W either get more benches
for the campus or else get there
earlier.
Jo Zelbig tells us that in
Spring a young woman's fancy
turns lightly to love too and
adds that she will surely bo glad
when a certain soldier namely
Nick Gray gets home.
Who should wc see at tho1
Senior Talent Show but Alice
Irci.j Hodel and Harold Evans?
The' ain't the on. time either!
Wednesday night. How's about
something definite from you
two?
The bull has been sitting
about long enough for now.
We're klnda afraid to let him go
now tho' he might sec Dean
Huff's red shirt and take after
him. But on the other hand if
we don't let him go now some
of you lovely students are liable
to see us and take after us!!
