Pilate’s Great Question
Discussed In Sermon
“What then shall I do with Jesus,
which is called Christ?”
There are a great many very inter-
esting, very important questions ask-
ed in the Bible. Sometimes God asks
the question, sometimes the penitent
' fr' ';45
soul, sometimes the believing saint.
Job asked a great question, when
he asked: “How can a man be clean
that is born of woman, or how can^
a man be justified with God?” Every
man should ask it. He cannot, how-
ever, answer it—God must answer.
Therefore, being justified by faith, we ]
have peace with God through our.'
Lord Jesus Christ. The blood of Je-
sus Christ, His Son, cleanseth us from
•all sin. Thank God the question
answereff. Micah says God req
man to do justly, to love mercy
to walk humbly with thy God.
Ished. We came into the world nak-
ed, will go away , naked, and then,
“thou fool, whose shall these things
be?”’ And they left all and followed
Jesus. Godliness with contentment
is great gain.
/ What must I do to he saved ? What-
wilt thou have me to do? Answered
by God: "Repent, believe, accept, be
■converted.” “God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son
that whosoever believeth on Him
Id not perish, but have everlast-
life.” He that believeth not shall

Having Great Meeting.
A post-card from Rev. L. B. Saxon,
pastor of Grace church, th|s city,
he is having a great meeting down
Gray burg, with twenty-three
sions the night before the card
written. Rev. Saxon said the
ing would close Sunday night.
well not to be in darkness. But the
light has not brought peace; it has
brought responsibility and condemna-
tion and I must act upon it or perish.
Job asked another question that all
the ages have been interested in: “If
a man die shall he live again?” Well,
I don’t know, says man. But God is
gracious again and brings the answer
in Christ Jeeus. “I am the resurrec-
tion and the life; he that believeth in
me, though he were dead, yet shall he
live; and he that liveth and believeth
in me shall never die.”

But the unbeliever, the fearful, the
harlot, the drunkard, the thief, the
covetous, the idolater, the gambler,
and all liars shall have their part in
the lake which burnetii with fire and
brimstone.
“What think ye of Christ; whose
Son' is He?” Just the Son of Joseph,
just a genius, just a man who was
ahead of His time. Just another Pla-
to-^-a wise 'philosopher; just a little
greater than Socrates, Confucius, Mo-
hammed, or perhaps, like an intelli-
gent man 45 years of age in the taber-
“But man dieth, and wasteth away: aacle a few nights ago, who said: ‘‘To

ment, and then shall go away into
everlasting punishment. ’ Well, if that
is so, how foolish to neglect so great
salvation ?
This brings us to the greatest ques-
tion% ‘ What shall I do then with Je-
sus which is called the Christ?” The
answer to all the other questions has
been “Christ.” They concern us as
to what God is going to do with us.
Our answer to this great question de-
termines our eternal destiny. Some
man here or some woman who likes
the heroic, who wants to be courage-
ous, says: “I wish I had had Pilate’s
