Hospital to Hold Open House May 15
The community is cordially
invited to the Hill Country Me-
morial Hospital on Sunday,
May 15, from 2 to 5 p.m. to par-
ticipate in an Open House in ob-
servation of National Hospital
Week throughout the country.
“On May 15 we are fortunate
to have other volunteer organi-
zations and health institutions
to participate with the hospital
in providing information on
health and modern medical
treatment,” according to Jerry
L. Durr, administrator.
Among those participating
with the hospital will be the
Mast Helicopter Service, Heart
Association, Cancer Society,
Prenatal Program, Emergency
Medical Services, Home Health
Agency Services and local
nursing homes. Each of these
groups, along with the hospital
staff, will be present to review
their contribution to health
care in the community.
The Hill Country Memorial
Hospital Auxiliary will serve as
hostesses and guides in the hos-
pital as well as the Health Ca-
reers Class will serve as guides
on the hospital grounds for the
occasion and the Hospital
Board will be available to
MRS. ELNA ST. CLAIR of Harper, pictured above, is
. reviewing with Roy Stroeher, hospital board president,
> and Jerry L. Durr, administrator, the placement of a
plaque in memory of her late husband, Clarence R. St.
■ Clair. Hill Country Memorial Hospital receives many
donations and special memorials from concerned in-
dividuals in the community. No greater nor lasting
tribute could be created than a memorial gift to the
hospital. Gifts are used to buy special items of equipment
ft; that otherwise might be unavailable to the community.

lespie County Judge Victor
Sagebiel announced May 8 to 14
as National Hospital Week in a
proclamation issued May 6.
The theme for the event is
“We Put the Care in Health
Care”.
Supporting National Hospital
Week, the proclamation read,
in part, “. . . Whereas, the city
of Fredericksburg and county
of Gillespie join the nation in
encouraging our citizens to be-
come better informed about our
hospitals’ services and accom-
plishments and to lend their
support to the achievement of
our hospitals’ goals...”
Citizens of the county and
city are urged to recognize and
participate in the event.

ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS
Every patient is registered through the admitting office where an admission history is
taken. Obstetric and surgical patients are encouraged to come to the admitting office
in advance of the admission date to complete the admission history and discuss
financing of the hospital stay. The admitting office is located to the left of the lobby
and is open 7 days a week.
NURSING STAFF
Your nursing care is planned and provided by professir
registered nurses under the guidance of your physician,
registered nurses supervise the nursing care team respons
for your nursing care. Members of the nursing care team
registered nurse, licensed vocational nurse, nursing aide, <
student vocational nurse.
