COST 25 YEARS AGO?
Since it didn’t exist 25
years ago there is no fair
way to estimate the cost.
The same reasoning applies
to the cost of today’s
prescriptions. Most of
today’s drugs didn’t even
exist 25 years ago, so they
could not be bought at
any price. When you
consider the lives that have
been saved, the rapid cures
that have resulted from

“WHO IS THE LORD?”
There are those in the world today who do not
believe in God. Many of these people are honest
doubters, and we make a serious mistake when we
do not recognize this fact. It is for this reason
that we study this question, “Who is the Lord?*
Let us make some observations. Man cannot know
who God is of and within himself. That is he cannot
by the study of nature, human reason, or scientific
research know the idenity of God. These things honestly
studied lead men to believe that there must be a
greater intelligent force working in the universe than
man. Since man is unable to know who God is of
and within himself, it argues that if he is ever to
know who God is he must be told. There are two
questions that we need to consider if man is to be
told. First, how is man to be told? Second, how may
the intelligence of man be reached? We need to know
this so that we may determine whether or not the
evidence presented is worthy of being received.
How is man to be told? It argues that he must be
told by one more intelligent than he is, and since
man is the most intelligent creature on earth, it
argues that the one telling man who God is must
be greater than man and must not make his abode
on earth. How may the intelligence of man be reached?
Man cannot think without words, therefore if man
is to be told anything it must be in words. The con-
clusion that must be drawn from this is: If man is
to know who God is he must be instructed in WORDS
by a superior intelligent being.
The Bible testifies that it is the word of God.
“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners
SPAKE in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hath in these last days SPOKEN unto us by his
Son, ” (Heb. l:l-2a). Question! How does one speak?
The only way that speech can affect the thought
process is in word. “Knowing this first, that no
prophecy of the scripture is of any private inter-
pretation. (Why?) For the prophecy came not in old
time by the will of man: (not a product of man’s
own thinking) but holy men of God spake (not their
own minds) as they were moved by the Holy Spirit”
( 2 Pet. 1:20-21). The Bible then is a product of a
superior intelligent being and can be accepted on
the basis of human reason and logic, as evidence
to determine, “Who is the Lord.” Herbert Thornton

“walks” right over bumps and trouble
Independent front suspension takes the “truck” out of truck ride. ^ It
smooths rough roads, protects truck, driver and cargo from excessive
jolting. And on Chevrolet pickups it's a proved system with millions
of miles of user experience behind it. Try it out on
one of Chevrolet's great Fleetside or Stepside pickups.
It's one of the big reasons that Chevrolet is
first choice with pickup users from coast to coast.
