Llano Fine Arts Guild Artist of the Month
Bea Wimberley was recognized as the Artist of the
Month by the Llano Fine Arts Guild. She has been a
member since 1980.

Fine Art Guild's finest
watcrcolor artists She paints
with a flair all her own and
has some outstanding
modern and classic
watcrcolor art pieces at the
Llano Fine Arts Gallery. A
member of the art guild since
19X0. Bea w as lucky enough
to have studied under the
tutelage of the well known
late Llano watercolor artist
Lillian Fowler and Kathy
Summers She has served as
President of the guild several
times, given demonstrations
and won mam awards for her
work Mixed media and
collage are also some of her
specialties along with with
aery lie inks One of the few
local artists that was actually
bom in Llano she has spent
most of her life here Bea met
her husband. Roger
Wimberly, in high school
here and together they
attended business school in
Austin
For a while they lived in
Bnownwood until Roger got
a job with Xerox and the
couple were able to return to
the Hill Country Self taught
in music, and highly skilled
in piano, key board, organ
and guitar Bea was a music
teacher for several y ears and
she didn't get interested in art
until she met a member of the
Llano Fine Arts Guild who
encouraged her to join Dick
Turner was one of her first
workshop instructors and she
learned oil painting under
him before turning to
watercolors Others may
know Bea for her charitable
work She is secretary for
Holy Trinity Church, plays
organ for the church and
volunteers one day a week at
Thrift Town To see the work
of Bea Wimberly and the
work of other local artists

The Lone Grove
Community Club is planning
another fundraiser to assist in
their efforts to raise money
to preserve the historic
structure of the Lone Grov e
School The building, which
serv ed as a school from 191 o
until all Llano County
schools were consolidated in
1948. is in need of many
repairs to both the interior
and exterior
A fish fry in June with
attendance over 300 gav e the
fund drive a substantial
beginning, and several
individual donations have
been made since that time
The restoration committee
has several grants pending
that hopefully will increase
their funds dramatically.
In the meantime, it's back
to work This fundraise will
be a community vv ide garage
sale with donations of
merchandise from many
areas of the County The sale
will take place on Saturday.
November 13 at the

VFD Gold Panning Challenge at the Gold and Gem Rendezvous in Llano.
