In Homecoming Game
The McMurry Indians play
host to Southwest Texas
State in Saturday afternoon's
annual Homecoming game
with the Tribe entertaining
the Bobcats as 1IC oppo-
nents for the first time.
The Tribe owns a 2-1-1
record against the Bobcats
of SWTSC. The Warriors
trounced the 'Cats last sea-
son 20-7.
McMurry has been very
successful in its Homecom-
ing tilts winning the last
seven in a row and compiling
a record pf 17 wins 9 losses
and 2 tics.

McMurry has a Homecom-
ing record of 17 wins 9
losses and two ties. The Tribe
hasn't lost a Homecoming
game since 1952 winning the
last seven Homecoming
games. Last year the Wai-
rlors scalped ENMU 51-0.
In last season's game with
SWTSC the Braves romped
to a 20-7 victory over the
Bulldons from San Marcos.
Coa'ch Grant Teaf f 's
charges will be short on ex-
perience this Homecoming
but will be long on spirit
and determination. The In-
dians play a scrappy game
working from the "T"
on offense and the Okla-
homa ami Eagle on defense.

Two more McMurry school
records fell by the wayside
this past week as sophomore
quarterback Lee King com-
pleted a pass to halfback
Richard Compton good for
S3 yards.
The old record for the long-
est scoring pass-run play was
83 yards set by Tommy Mc-
Adams passing to Ernie Da-
vis against East Texas State
in 1958.
Another record set by the
Klng-to-Compton play was
the longest scoring play from
scrimmage. Ernie Davis held
the old record with an 87-
yard run from scrimmage
against New Mexico State In
1950.
Tribe. He Is a member of Chi
Omlcron social club.
Starting guard John
Thomas has lettered one
year for the Braves. Thomas
was named to the All-Amer
lcan team while In high
school. Thomas Is the lone
returning starter from last
year.
Bridges Is a physical ed-

ternational ratings of the top
small colleges released last
Thursday named the Uni-
versity of Chattanooga as the
No. 5 team In the nation.
Another Indian foe yet to
be played Louisiana Tech
was rated No. 2.
Texas teams making the
small college top 20 were East
Texas State (12) Lamar
Tech (19) and Texas A&I
(20).
McMurry failed to make
the top 20 but did receive
