Class Notes
Randall Mark Minton '82 is manager of R.
M. Minton & Sons Beer Distributors. He is
single & working on MBA at ASU in San
Angelo.
H. H. (Buddy) Hooper, Jr. '81 is a principal
& amember of Texans War on Drugs. He has
piloted two "Just Say No" Clubs. He & wife
Myrlice live in Ozona.
C. David Englutt, Jr. '87 is a production
supervisor for Cargill-Division EXCEL
Corp. He lives in Beardstown, IL.
George W. (Lee) Powell '84 is a principal &
coach at Ponder H. S. As high school coach,
he recently won his 500th career basketball
game. He, wife Linda & family live in Den-
ton.
Kim Krause '83 is a school consultant for
Texas School Services Foundation in Austin.
Ted M. Pettijohn '83 received his Ph.D.
from UT Austin inInorganic Chemistry. He is
a research chemist with Phillips Petroleum.
He & wife Ann live in Bartlesville, OK.
Mark '83 & Kim (Corley) '85 Kaiser an-
nounce the birth of their son Dustin Cole on
April 25.
Edward D. Jenkins '50 is a civil engineer
and has been with the Texas Hwy. Dept. for
35 yrs. He & wife Betty live in Hamilton.
They have4 daughters, 2grandkids & another
on the way.
Nanette Trimmier Spain '83 is a flight at-
tendant for Delta Airlines, based at DFW Air-
port. Husband Randy, MEd. '81 at TSU, is a
coach/English teacher at Denver City H.S.
Lisa Gail Ard '87 is working on her MBA at
Tarleton.
Cherilyn Priddy Loving '80 taught Title I,
4th grade & kindergarten & is currently a
housewife. She & husband Steve live in
Graham. They have 2 children.
William D. Heath '86 is a law enforcement
officer for Texas Parks & Wildlife & is cur-
rently attending the game warden academy in
Austin. He is single.Jack R. Hawkins '27 died April 1. He was a
resident of Groesbeck since 1930 at which
time he became editor-publisher of the
Groesbeck Journal. He edited the weekly
newspaper for 58 years and wrote his weekly
column until he became ill. He served four
terms as state representative for Limestone,
Falls, Frestone and Navarro Counties and was
a former member of the state board of educa-
tion. He was married to Euleta Sharp who
preceded him in death Aug. 25, 1987. He is
survived by a daughter, two sons, a sister and
three grandchildren.
Dr. William A. Boney Jr., '36 died Jan.29 in
Ames, Iowa. He received his doctorate of
veterinary medicine from A&M in 1942 and
had an extensive career including extension
poultry veterinanrian at A&M, director of the
Pullorum Testing Lab and research vet for
USDA from 1963 until his retirement in '79.
He is survived by his wife, Marylou, a
daughter and four sisters.
H.H. Hassler '36 who taught at TSU for 7
years died February 10, 1988 in Stephenville.
He was apublic school educator formore than
40 yrs and retired as Stephenville Junior High
Principal. Survivors include his wife Marian,
a son, a daughter & 3 grandchildren.
Dan Rankin '39 died May 24,1986 of a heart
attack at his home in Ft. Worth. He owned &
operated Dan Rankin Motor Co. for 32 yrs. At
Tarleton he was captain of the basketball
team 1937-38, and cadet colonel 1938-39. A
World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps,
he served as Captain in the 8th Air Force
stationed in England. He is survived by his
wife Robbie Lea, one daughter, & two grand-
children.
Florence Sheehan, a graduate of Tarleton,
died December 10, 1987 in Dublin. She
taught in the Dublin school system. After her
retirement from teaching she was a gift shop
owner-operator. Survivors include two cous-
ins who live in Austin & three longtime
friends from Dublin.William R. Thames '75 died October 29,
1987 in Three Rivers, TX. He was a farrier-
rancher. He is survived by his wife Dawne
and two children.
Dohn Harwood Barham '66 died Feb. 5, in
Ithaca, NY. He was the Cornell University
press associate director and financial director
for four years where he developed Cornell
Press Services. Survivors include his wife
Neva, a daughter, parents Mr. and Mrs. Car-
roll Barham of Stephenville & a brother.
Harold E. Pittard '45 of Novice, TX died
November 27, 1987. He was retired from the
Novice ISD after 30 yrs of teaching & admini-
stration. He was a veteran of World War II,
Commissioned a second Lieutenant, infantry,
upon graduation from A&M. Survivors in-
clude his wife Laudys, three sons, his mother
& two brothers.
Robert F. Bryant '25 died August 28, 1987
in Odessa after a lengthy illness. He is sur-
vived by his wife Lilly Maye, a son & a
daughter, four grandchildren & four great
grandchildren.
Theron Omer Pridgeon '26 of Waco died
November 16, 1987. He received an A.S.
degree in Vo. Ag. which he taught after
graduating Texas A&M in '32. He was em-
ployed for 32 yrs. with the Soil Conservation
Service. After retirement in '66 he raised
Polled Hereford & registered thoroughbred
quarter horses. He is survived by his wife
Juanita, a son & twin daughters, 5 grandchil-
dren & 4 brothers.
Loys L. Davis died January 27, 1988 in
Escondid, California.
Dr. Doyle W. Hennessee of Meridian died at
his home on March 30, 1988 of a heart attack.
He was a freshman at Tarleton in 1929 and
later graduated from A&M as Doctor of
Veterinary Medicine. He practiced in
Stephenville and later moved to Meridian
where he practiced from 1946 to the time he
retired in the 70's. He is survived by his wife
Mildred, a daughter and three sons.Page 15
