Leonard Raymond Hold, age 64, of
Wortham, died Oct. 12, 2000. He
was self-employed as owner of H&H
Services.
Richard Don Peebler Sr., age 64, of
Lufkin, died June 29, 2000. He
served as a pilot and missile
commander with the Strategic Air
Command, was a photo intelligence
officer and served with the Airborne
Command; Peebler retired from the
military in 1974. He operated Tex
Pack freight services in Lufkin for
12 years.
Dr. Patsy C. Howard '79, age 59, of
Rising Star, died Oct. 2, 1999. She
received a fellowship from the
Institute for Educational Leadership
in Washington, D.C., working with
the Council of Chief State School
Officers. She served as legislative
assistant for the International
Relations Committee.
John Howard Franks '63, age 58,
of Austin, died Oct. 14, 1999. He
was director of fiscal affairs for the
Texas Youth Commission for 33
years. Franks was also a rancher.
Elza Miller, age 58, of Lubbock, died
Oct. 12, 2000. He was a U.S. Army
veteran, having served in Vietnam.
He was most recently employed with
American Industrial Bearing in
Lubbock until retiring in 1999.
Karen Kaye Robinson, age 58, of
Lake Worth, died Sept. 11, 2000.
She was a retired claims adjuster.
Lee S. Fish, age 57, of Waco, died
Sept. 15, 2000. He was employed
with Haliburton for several years
before becoming a pharmaceutical
representative.
Carl Norcross, age 57, ofStephenville, died May 22, 2000. He
was working in the parts department
with Bruner Motor Company at the
time of his death.
Charles Irling Smith, age 57, of
Lampasas, died Aug. 27, 2000. He
retired in 1992 after 25 years of
active service with the U.S. military.
Col. Smith's many awards included
the Distinguished Flying Cross,
Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Elizabeth Ann Woodruff, age 56, of
Adamsville, died Sept. 22, 2000.
Sam Edward Bays '70, age 52, of
Stephenville, died Dec. 10, 1999. He
was a farmer.
Gentry N. Lynn '76, age 52, of
Idalou, died May 22, 2000. He
taught school at Estelline, Muleshoe
and Clint prior to moving to Idalou.
Lynn also served in the U.S. Navy
from 1968-72.
Terry Zimmerman, age 51, of Burnet,
died May 1, 2000. He was a life
member and former director of the
Burnet County Fair & Rodeo
Association, director for 25 years of
the Burnet County 4-H and FFA
Livestock Show and former president
and director of the Texas Delaine
Sheep Association.
Donald Lee Miller '74, age 49, of
Crawford, died Sept. 6, 2000. He
worked at M&M Mars in Waco for
13 years before becoming an account
executive for KWTX, News 10.
Johnny Liverman, age 45, of
Junction, died Dec. 5, 1999. He
owned and managed Liverman's
Grocery and Johnny's Exxon and
Subway in Junction.
Stephen C. McKenzie, age 44, of
Fort Stockton, died Oct. 18, 1999.
He was chorale music director for
Fort Stockton Methodist Church andImmanuel Baptist Church.
JoEllen Heiser Ebeling '90, age 42,
of Bedford, died July 26, 2000. She
was a certified public accountant.
Gabriele Hockett McGee, age 42, of
Lampasas, died May 16, 2000. She
served as assistant manager for the
Country Kitchen for more than 20
years.
John Wesley Bray, age 41, of Aledo,
died July 22, 2000. He was officer
manager for George Bray and
Associates.
Roby Dearing, age 29, of Jermyn,
died June 29, 2000. He was a
rancher.
Chad Thurman, age 29, of Hewitt,
died Sept. 26, 2000. He worked as a
distribution coordinator for FMC
Corporation.
Robert Allen "Bob" Jennings, Jr.
'96, age 28, of Garden City, died
Sept. 29, 2000. He managed the
Sterling County Water District for
three years before earning his aerial
applicator's license and working for
Bert Bruton Flying Service, spraying
for the boll weevil eradication
program.
William Coy Berryman, age 27, of
Canoga Park, CA, died June 6, 2000.
He was working as an actor in Los
Angeles.
Johnny Lee Fender; Jr., age 25, of
Fort Worth, died Aug. 12, 2000. He
had recently begun working with the
U.S. Postal Service and had
previously been employed by the
Firefighter Movers of Keller for two
years.
Travis Weiland, age 23, of
Stephenville, died Sept. 27, 2000 in
