two years, has a memhershi

Mrs. Macon has been In the
group for one ami one-half years
and has previously served as
ways and means chairman. She
was Installed in office Nov. 7,
A young looking, attractive
grandmother of eight, she has
lived In Baytown since 182!). Her
children are Mrs. Gene Moody
and Mrs. Eugene Fayle of Bay-
town. Mrs. E. B. Ward of Hous-
ton and Bob Bass of San Pedro.

She is employed at Odorless
Cleaners Drop-In station near
Lakewood. Besides her many
activities »s mother, grandmoth
er and president of the Grand-
mothers group, she Is very ac
live In several other organiza-
tions.
She Is past commander of the
Navy Mothers club and has been
a member of the club lor four
years. She attended the nation-
al Navy Mothers convention in
I/vs Angeles In 1854 and the con-
vention In New Orleans In 1956,
representing the Baytown club
In this club she has also served
as adjutant, vie# president and
chaplain.
She has been a conductor In
the Rebekahs since 1951 and has
held several other offices In
this organisation.
She is' now serving as treas-
urer of the Ladies auxiliary of
the Canton (LAPMl which Is
another organization connected
with the Oddfellows.
A charter member of the Lum-
Roark chapter of the United
Daughters of the Confederacy,
Mrs. Macon Is now recorder of
crosses.
When her children were In
school she served as chaperone
of the Horace Mann and then
the Robert E. I as* bands.
This busy woman is also a
charter members of the Wooster
Baptist church.
She reveals that In her "spare
time" she loves to cook and
tended a 'live" broadcast and
she was given the prise because
she happened to have a (3 bill In
her purse.
The Grandmothers club ha*
planner! an active year, said
Mrs. Macon. They hope to par-
ticipate in city, beautification
projects and to visit Happy Har-
bour and Boys' Harbor They
give Thanksgiving and Christ-
mas baskets each year.
The group also assists with
civic charity drives. Two an-
nual socials arc their Christmas
party and their birthday dinnei
in October.
This Christmas season they
plan to make Christmas corsages
with bells, Christmas balls, pine
cones and other trim The cor-
sages will be sold as h ways
and means project for 5d cents
each.
