Police beat
Money taken from coin-operated machines
Thieves are targeting coin-operated machines, not only in store clerk saw the suspect grab the beer and head for the door. He
hit a switch that automatically locked the door and held the suspect
—Police are investigating the theft of $1,350 worth of cable
television equipment from an apartment complex on Northwood
Drive. Witnesses have provided police with the rdentity of a suspect
in the crime.
—Someone broke into a vehicle at a used car lot in the 1300
block of North Alexander and stole a stereo and amplifier worth
about $600, according to a Monday report
SUSPECT CHARGED
Ronnie Dale Anderson, 37, of 1408-A Nevada, has been charged
in the 263rd District Court with sexual assault, burglary of a
habitation and escape. Total bond was set at $17,000, according to
the Harris County District Clerk's office.
CRIME SCENE
Between Monday and Tuesday mornings, Baytown police
handled 124 complaints.
Baytown but throughout East Harris County, according to authori-
ties.
Baytown police investigated four such crimes Monday at
convenience stores on North Main, West Baker and Park. The locks
were broken and money stolen from the machines, police said.
Similar incidents have been reported over East Harris County and
the east side of Houstoa
BURGLARIES/THEFTS
—A customer in a fast-food restaurant’s drive-through lane
apparently helped himself to more than a burger early Tuesday.
Employees at the restaurant said that as they turned away from tire
window to get the man’s order, he got out of his car, reached
through the window and grabbed a purse stored under that counter.
They found the purse sitting beside the window when they returned
with his order. A wallet was missing from the purse.
—A 17-year-old who apparently tried to steal beer from a
convenience store Monday night had the tables turned on him. The
