Twenty-two members of the
Cuero High school chorus and
four adult sponsors and the
director, Mrs. J. Buennlng,
returned Tuesday after making
a European tour.
The group left Cuero May 28
by Dutch airlines from Hous-
ton. Among those leaving were
Elmorrls Johnson Jr., son of
Mr. and Mrs. Elmorrls John-
son, Sr.; Charles Love, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Love, and
Miss Paula King, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Forrest King.
a clean up was recently held
at the Westville vemetery by
a group headed by Mrs. Bessie
Carter. Lunch was carried and
served by women of the com-

The annual Choir and Mis-
sion day program was recently
observed at Little Zion Baptist,

Saturday In her home. Rev.
Isaac Robinson was best man
and his wife was matron of

Mrs. Robinson sang the
Lord’s Prayer and was accom-
panied at the piano by Mrs.
Helen Herndon who played the
traditional wedding march.
The bride wore a beautiful
pale green dress with white
accessories, and a pink cor-
sage Interspersed with tiny
white wedding bells.
The matron of honor wore a
pink and white embroidered silk
dress with white accessories.
The wedding reception was
also held at the home. The
table was laid with white linen
cloth and was centered with
the two-tiered wedding cake.
Mrs. M.C. Jamison served
punch and Mrs. Dennis Dotson
received the guests. Rev.
Hawkins, pastor of Mt. Sinai
Baptist church, officiated at
the services.

The fourth and last quarterly
co iference of the West San An-
tonio district was held at Little
Bethel AME church and at St.

The Men’s day program was
observed at Little Bethel with
the deacons and stewards call-
ing the service. Rev. Freeman
gave the prayer and Rev. C.C.
Polk made the scripture. Rev.
O.L. Wimblsh delivered the

ANGELES, Philippines —
Sergeant Alan B. Davis, son of
Mrs. W.R. Davis of 615 Hays
street, San Antonio, is a mem-
ber of a U.S. Air Force or-
ganization which has been hon-
ored with the Republic of Phil-
ippines Presidential Unit cita-
tion.
Sergeant Davis Is an air-
craft Instrument repairman at
Clark Air base with the 1867th
Facility Checking squadron
which received the award for
providing flood relief and re-
covery support to the Philippine
government last July 21 to
Aug. 15.
More than 100 Inches of rain

July. Air Force units at Clark
were cited for carrying out a
massive, well-organized hu-
manitarian operation that In-
cluded evacuation of refugees,
aerial and land transport of
medical teams and supplies to
remote areas, and delivery of
vital medical, food and other

He will wear a distinctive
service ribbon to mark his
affiliation with the unit.
Sergeant Davis Is a 1970
graduate of Brackenrldge High
school.
