Hosier Lumber Company Of Mullin
Sold To Richard D. “Red” Shelton
Lumber Company of
Mullin has been sold to Richard
D. "Red” Shelton. It was an-
nounced this week.
Announcement of the change
of ownership appears in this Is-
sue of the paper.
Mr. Shelton Is a native of the
Mullin community. He and his
family have moved back to Mul-
Un from California where they
have been for some time. Mr.
Shelton left Mullin In 1948 and
served In the Navy until 1955.
Mr and Mrs. Shelton have
three children. A daughter, Di-
ana 17, a senior in high school,
Clinton, 9. and Jeffery 5 years
of age. They live on the Jim
Sanders place.
In announcing the purchase
of the lumber business Mr.
Shelton said he plans to add to
the stock and expand the serv-
ices of the store.
The business will be operated
i under the firm name of Shelton
Lumber Yard.

up the affairs of the Moeler
Lumper Company.
Mr. Mosler joined the firm In
1914 when It was Randolph Ac
Hester. In 1920 when John Hes-
ter sold his Interest to the late
J. H. Randolph Mr. Mosler be-
came manager of the firm and
continued until 1981 when the
yard was sold to his late son,
N. L. Mosler.
He continued his association
with the firm under the owner-
ship of his late son and hia wife
and family, Mrs. N. L. Moeler,
Lynn and Vicki.
There Is some talk that he
might retire one of these days,
but friends and neighbors are
speculating that they will still
see him around the lumber
yard.

District 7, Texas Sheep and
Goat Raisers' Amoclatton, will
hold their annual meeting at
San Saba School Cafeteria next
Tuesday night, October 4, at
7:30 o'clock.
All members of the associa-
tion and auxiliary are urged to
attend.
The purpose of the meeting Is
to elect directors and new offi-
cers.
A film, "I Run- Too Often,”
will be shown and refreshments
will be served, according to

ton of Brady.

Is Lions Speaker
Rev. Philip Riley was the
guest speaker for the regular
meeting of the Goldthwalte
Lions Club last Tuesday noon
In the community room of Mills
County State Bank.
He spoke on the subject of
the modern age with respect to
advanced technology and the
computer.
Glynn Collier, president, In-
troduced the speaker in the ab-
sence of program committee.
Announcement was made that
the club made approximately
$193.00 from the broom and mop
sale for the benefit of their
community project fund.
George Adams, Goldthwalte.
and Joe Bowers, Brown wood,
were guests at the meeting.
The club will meet next Tues-
day noon, October 4. In the
community room of the bank.
Jackie Williams and Charlie
McLean will have charge of the
program.

A work day will be held all
day Saturday, October 1, at the
Mullin School, It has been an-
nounced by School officials.
All Interested In the upkeep
and appearance of the school
buildings and surroundings are
encouraged to bring tools and
participate In the project.
The ladles are requested to
bring a covered dish for lunch.

The Goldthwalte Eagles
their first victory of the
as they stomped the Marble
Falls Mustangs 41-22 on Eagle
field last Friday night.
Good luck came to the Eagles
when captains Joe Dellls, Davfcl
Wledebusch. Harold Moore, and
LeRoy Wernette won the toes
and chose to receive the kickoff.
Halfback Charles Blackburn
received the kickoff behind the
goal and brought the ball back
out to the 24 yard line.
A handoff to Bobby Rountree
on the second down play put
the Eagles on the Mustangs' 8
yard line as Rountree ran a-
round the end zone for a gain
of 50 yards.
On the second down and one
yard to goal Quarterback Mike
Conradt carried the ball Into
the end gone for the first touch-
down of the ball game and hie
fhfet touchdown of the season.
The kick for extra point fail-
ed but the Eagles were on their
way to victory with only a min-
ute and thirty seconds of the
game behind them.
The Eagles, who did a beauti-
ful Jbb of holding the Mustangs,
forced them to kick on their
fourth down.
hla. kburn's 40 yard run and
with the help of the yardage
made by Rountree put the Eag-
les In good shape on the 17 yard
line of the Mustangs.
First down and 2 minutes and
46 seconds left In the first
frame was the setup for the
Eagles whan a pltchback by
Conradt to Rountree put the
Eagles two touchdowns ahead of
the Mustangs.
Rountree kicked for the extra
point to lead t)ie Mustangs 13-0.
Blackburn received the punt
as he picked up 40 yards on the
runback.
Conradt handed off to Black-
burn on the second down as he
out ran all of the Mustangs for
53 yards and a touchdown.
Bobby Rountree added anoth-
er point to the score for the
Eagles as he kicked for the ex-
tra point with the scoreboard
reading 20-0 for the first quar-
ter.
After receiving the ball from
the Mustangs on a fourth down
punt, the Eagles were really
making yardage as Sammy
Hudson caught 0 straight passes
for the total gain of 72 yards
In the second frame.
A pass by Conradt to Black-
burn on the second down play
really brought excitement to
the fans as Blackburn charged
over the line dragging two of
the Mustangs.
Rountree’s fourth kick fbr the
extra point was good to leave
the score at the half with a
wide lead of 27-0 for the Eagles.
Gary Warllck opened the
scoring for the second half with
a 28 yard touchdown to make
