The Baytown City Council, at
a regular meeting Thursday af-
ternoon, deferred action on a
request by the Baytxen Housing
Authority that the council signi-
fy its willingness to cooperate
with the authority in obtaining
approval of construction of 250
additional low • rent housing un-
its here.
Officials of the housing au-
thority board of commissioners
project was necessary in the
preparation of a?’worklng plan"

the federal government along
with a request for financing the
proposed housing units
Council members indicated
they would like to have more
time to study the meaning of
“working plan” before acting on
the housing authority’s request.
Councilman Andy Braswell

Death has Interrupted the
budding Army career of Lt.
V-eorge Edward (Butch) Per-
kins, 22, of Baytown, a June
graduate of the U.S. Military
Academy at West Point
Perkins was lolled Thursday
afternoon In an automobile ac-
cident near Greenville, Ala. He
was on his way to Baytown for
a visit with his family i
