A Day Of Mourning For
Victims Of Communism
PROCLAMATION
November 7th will mark the 50th Anniversary of one of the
greatest disasters in history — the Bolshevik seizure of power
in Russia. From that country the communist blight has spread
until it torments a billion human beings.
We free Americans record:
THAT during the last half-century, communism has been
responsible for the extermination of at least 85 million people
through civil war, man-made famine, purges, ger.oeidal deporta-
tions and executions, in torlure chambers and in concentration
camps;
THAT communism has (systematically destroyed moral and
spiritual values; imposed incalculable sufferings on nations and
people; has persecuted all religious and placed myriad minds in
the chains of thought control;
THAT communism set the pattern lor Fascism and other
varieties of totalitarianism, and that its relentless drive for
world domination has kept nearly a hundred million people of
East-Central Europe in bondage and the world in a stale of
turmoil;
THAT since 1917 not one of the nations conquered by force
or seized by subterfuge has been permitted a free e'ection, nor
has any free people ever voted to adopt communism in preference
to democracy;
THAT during these 50 years, communist dictatorships have
preached "liberalkm” while practicing unlimited oppression to
consolidate their rule based on terror;
THEREFORE, believing it to be the solemn duty of those
who cherish freedom and conscience to speak for the silenced
and to honor rh” martyred dead.
We, free American individuals and organizations, do pro-
claim November 7th a
DAY OF MOURNING FOR THE VICTIMS OF COMMUNISM
We call on free men everywhere to observe that day and
that week by commemoration* and prayers and
We ca't on evory community to rededicate itself in its own
way to restoring the freedoms already destroyed lor a billion
human beings end threatened by communism lor the rest of
mankind.

'The Lord is my Shepherd; I
shall not want” ....
The twenty-third Psalm is one
of the favorite passages of Scrip-
ture for many of us. There is
hardly a more beautiful, more
inspirational passage in the Bible.
It gives us a feeling of awe to
claim the Lord as our shepherd,
but He makes it very clear that
we can, and that we are to claim
him as our own, even as He
claims us as His own, if we have
given Him our hearts.
It should thrill our hearts be-
yond. measure when we think
that all our wants, and desires
can be supplied in the Shepherd.
Every need of body or mind or
spirit - of time or eternity, is fully

Of all the creatures of tha
earth, God gave man the power
to choose his destiny and direct
hig actions. Whatever we have,
we have chosen it, knowingly or
unknowningly. Have you ever
wanted happiness, health, pres-
tige, wealth and the like? If you
are like many people you have
desired some of these things.
Here is a tip that could turn
the tables for you. The same a8
anything else you mast pay for
it. The cost is this, time, cour-
age, and determination.
To achieve any particular thing
you must choose a particular
thing. Now whatever it is you
want most, choose that as your
goal. Think about it for fifteen
minutes each day. Whether you
are young and robust or old and
bedridden really doesn’t matter.
You can still choose if your mind
is good enough to read this. It
is well known that a single seed
planted in fertile soil will multi-
ply itself over and over. Thoughts
follow the same pattern. When you
choose your goal and think about
it for the fifteen minutes daily
watch how the thoughts will mul-
tiply. Most minds have the habit
of drifting off, the important thing
is to keep your mind on what you
want and off the things which you
don’t want.
Whatever thoughts dominate
your mind, good or bad, you like
Ihem or not, they will multiply
themselves. You are just as great
as you think you are.
You ran do what you really
think you can. Look around you.
everything that you see was at
on*, time just a thought in some-
one’s mind. It could have been
yours, it can still be, for God
gave each of us the power to
choose our destiny, and the abili-
ty to develop methods of achieve-
ing it. ...i
