Large python on the loose in Beach City
Pepple visiting the Beach City
Community building were greeted by
a sight normally reserved for those
visiting the reptile house at the
Houston Zoo.
Wrapped around a tree was a very
large snake.
Billy Combs, the mayor of Beach
City, said it may have been a family
pet that either escaped or was let
loose.
“It appears someone has released
their pet snake into the wild,” Combs
said. “Pythons released into the wild
have become a large problem in dif-
ferent parts of the country but this is
the first I’ve seen here. These snakes
can and will thrive in our environment
and can pose a threat to small pets and
even people.”
Combs warned those who saw the
snake to call local authorities.
“If you see this shake or others like
it please call for Chambers County
Animal Control to come and pick it
up,” Combs said. “If you know of any-
one thinking of releasing a pet shake
into the wild please encourage them
not to do so.”
Chambers County Animal Control
can be reached at 409-267-8318.

BIBLE VERSE
God’s love was revealed
among us in this way: God
sent his only Son into the
world so that we might live
through him. In this is love,
not that we loved God but
that he loved us and sent
his son to be the atoning
sacrifice for our sins.
-1 John 4:9-10
