Houston street, are both rapidly approach-

Quite a number, of stone and brick build-
ings in course of erection at and near the de-
pot. . W ho ever heard of improvements be-
ing made as fast as they are now in Fort
Worth.
That same old substantial firm of M. Ja-
cobson & Co., still remain on Main street
selling dry good*, clothing Ac, which they
sell so low down that one can hardly see how
they pay their rent, but still, they remain
“right thar,” and are dojng a business of
which they are not only proud, but every
one who buys good^of them.
During the closing performances'‘at the
varieties theatre last night, one tff; tile last
scones was a sham fight on the stage between
two of the performer*. A poHcemah who
was there and didn't understand the pro-
gramme, rushed on to the stage and prompt-
ly arrested the ,-beligor *.ut parties. Instead
of them being “sent up,” he had to “set em
up.”
