Baytown Little League photos
The Baytown Sun is accepting photos for publica-
tion of the champions of each of the 11 divisions.
High resolution, digital photos must be sent by
e-mail to sports@baytownsun.com.
All players and coaches in the picture must be
named, first and last, beginning with front row, left
to right.
Baytown angler making a move
Baytown’s Nicholas Bell currently sits as the sec-
ond runner up five weeks into the STAR anglers ro-
deo fishing derby.
The 10-year-old is in the running for a $50,000
scholarship after catching a 4-pound 13-ounce
sheepshead last week.
Ty Vestal of Dayton and Craig Slovacek of
Highlands are also on the board with two months
remaining in the contest. Vestal is the fourth run-
ner up after snagging a 5-pound 4-ounce gafiftop,
and Slovacek sits in fourth plac.e after reeling in a
6-pound 4-ounee sheepshead.
Junior Ranger program summer day
camp opens at Anahuac
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and the Friends of
Anahuac Refuge are proud to announce the opening of
the registration period for kids, 6 years old to 12 years
old, to participate in the Junior Ranger Summer Day
Camp at Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge.
There are a limited number of spots available for the
summer camp, so make sure to sign up soon.
The summer camp is July 15-19, and will be from 9
a.m.-3 p7m., with late drop-off and pick-up available.
During this Five-day summer camp, the following
topics will be covered: plants, birds, reptiles/amphib-
ians, insects and wetlands.
Enrollment is open now until July 8. All forms and
payment can be brought to the Anahuac NWR Visitor
Center at, 4017 FM 563, or enroll by phone 409-267-

Women’s intro to kayaking to host
program in Bay City
The Matagorda County Birding Nature Center
will host its sixth introduction to kayaking program
for women 18 and older on Saturday, July 20.
' It will run from 5:05 to 7:05 p.m. at the center
near Bay City.
Cost is $10 for MCBNC members and $20 for
non-members and covers instruction, kayak with
paddle and PFD, facility entry fee and after-class
snacks and beverages, call Donna Younger, MCB-
NC managing director, at 979-240-3640 for sign-up
details.
