and Refining Co.’s Baytown
Refinery Mechanical Depart-
ment In 1926, Is retiring from
the Materials Department.
Contreras is a native of Esp-
eranzas, Mex. He is a member
of St. Joaeph Catholic Church,
Knights of Columbus No. 2766,
Bishop Bym Assembly, Fourth
Degree, Precinct Judge at
Box 102, and a retired officer of
the Baytown Police Reserves.
Contreras and his wife,
Frances, have six children and
eight grandchildren. He plans
to do social work after retire-
ment.

Dies At 65
Former Baytonian Louia L.
Burns, 65, of Houston, brother
of Mrs. Ruth Ash of 611 Little-
wood and Mrs. Leigh Ola Hol-
mes of 600 S. Circle, died about
midnight Saturday, apparently
of a heart attack.
Services will be at 11 a.m.
Tuesday at Forest Park Chapel
on Lawndale in Houston with
Elder Raymond C. Lee, pastor
of Grace Primitive Baptist
Church of Houston, officiating.
Before leaving Baytown
some five years ago, Burns op-
erated a service station and the
first soft ice cream store in the
area at Four Corners. He ran a
chain of ice cream stores in
Houston before his retirement
after which he owned and op-
erated Thompson’s Fishing
Camp on Tri-City Beach Road
until about a year ago.
Survivors other than his two
sisters include his wife, Mrs.
Edith Burns of Houston; three
dautfiters, Mrs; LaVette Phil-
lips, Mrs. BaBette Stephenson
and Miss BeeBe Lynn Burns of
Houston; and gne brother, El-
der Joe B. Rums of Liberty,
pastor of Pilgrim Rest Primi-
tive Baptist Church in Bay-
town. t
