BY MARK FLEMING
mark.fleming@baytownsun.com
A Harris County sheriff's
deputy and a bank robber ex-
changed gunfire outside the
Community Bank of Texas in
Crosby about 1:45 p.m. Tues-
day, but no one Was believed
injured in the exchange.
The sheriff’s office reports
that a deputy driving near the
bank noticed two men getting
out of a minivan wearing heavy
w inter coats in spite of tempera-
tures in the 70s.
The deputy returned to the
scene and observed the two men
leaving the bank, which they
had just robbed.
One of the men fired a gun at
the deputy, striking the deputy's
vehicle.
The deputy returned fire and
apparently did not hit the rob-
bers. The robbers then ran to a
nearby car dealership and stole
a truck that was being serviced
there.
One of the robbers was
dropped off at a nearby apart-
ment complex, according to
the sheriff’s office, where he
got into a vehicle driven by a

Lee College Allied
Health Division Chair
Howard Bushart sat in the
conference room, quiet-
ly listening. The question
was simple. “What appeals
to you about physical ther-
apy,” but the answers were
not what he expected.
“Typically students cite
job growth and pay as the
top factors in their prefer-
ences,” he explained. “But
the students participating
in our focus groups over-
whelmingly cited a desire
to help others or a desire to
work in a helping profes-
sion as the most appealing
characteristic of physical
therapy.”
