soldiers implicated In the recent po-
litical plot against the president of
the republic (Jen. Alftiro to death
by shooting. Bight of the men were
executed in this city yesterday morn-
ing and the remainder probably will
be shot this afternoon. .Vine other
soldiers have been sentenced to pen-
al servitude for life on the same
charge.
The government has discovered a
new conspiracy at Quito and the
lead 'rs ot this movement fleeing
from the capital have arrived here.
