Methodists Notes
W. G. Birkner, Pastor
LAST SUNDAY: Our Sunday
School attendance held up to 95 in
spite of the bad weather. New life
is showing up in several of the clas-
ses. Mrs. Langford’s class of young
women will elect officers this Sun-
day, following a successful social
held at the teacher’s home Tuesday
night. We all liked the new report
board our secretary had up last Sun-
day and we hope to keep the record
looking good. Superintendent God-
by Acker made an incomplete an-
nouncement last Sunday that has
us all guessing and promises to tell
us all about it Sunday. It has to
do with improvements in the Sun-
day School building.
Attendance at church and Metho-
dist Youth fellowship were good
also. The “Clean-Up andr Paint-up”
Program seems to affect the church
favorably in every way.
THIS SUNDAY: We hope to see
over 100 in Sunday School. “Come
to Sunday school and stay for
church” is a new slogan put into
practice by our School—with the
intermission period cut to 5 minutes
between the two services, it is ex-
pected there will be less “wandering
off’’ while waiting for church. The
organ will start playing 5 minutes
of 11 o’clock and the first hymn will
be announced promptly at 11. The
choir will sing it’s first anthem after
the recent reorganization, into a
Woman’s Chorus. The pastor will
preach on the subject “A Personal
Religious Experience — A Basic
Necessity”. The series of sermons
on the Apostles’ Creed will begin on
Miarch 5th and continue until after
Easter (April 9th).
