State Department of Education from
Austin that the Brackettville High
school has received two additional
credits, one in Physics and the other
in General Science. This will give any
graduate of Brackettville High School
full .college entrance.
F. R. Benton, brother of Mesdames
Jesse Gilmer and Lon R. Smart, was
in the cky the first of the week, ac-
companied by his wife and child. Mr.
Benton returned to San Antonio Tues-
day, while his family remaining in
Rocksprings, visiting Mrs. Gilmer and
Mrs. Smart.
We noticed Lee Mason in town the
first of the week. Lee is the senior
member of the firm of Lee Mason &
Son, at Kerrville, Hill Country Chry-
sler dealers, and we understand he was
here to take orders for several new
Chryslers, and to deliver one already
sold.
MRS. THOMPSON
ENTERTAINS
Mrs. Alice Thompson, entertained
the members of the Jelly Wives
Bridge Club and a few guests at her
ranch home Thursday afternoon.
The living room was decorated with
Crystal vases filled with bright color-
ed zinriais.
At the conclusion of the games. Mrs.
Ed Miller received a beautiful power
jar for luckey cut.
Those enjoying Mrs. Thompson’s

missioners Court of Edwards County,
Texas, until 11:00 o’clock A. M. Aug-
ust 13, 1928, for certain new jail work
and appurtenances for Edwards Coun-
ty at Rocksprings, Texas, in accord-
ance with plan and specifications
therefor, furnished by Sounthern Pri-
son Company, San Antonio, Texas,
which plan and specifications may be
seen in the office of the County Clerk
in the courthouse at Rocksprings,
Texas, and at the main office of the
Southern Prison Company at San
Antonio, and at the branch office of
said company in the Slaughter BirHd-

Each bidder will be required to ac-
company his bid with a certified check
payable to C. H. Gilmer, County
Judge, in the amount of five per cent
of his bid, guaranteeing in the event
his bid accepted, that he will enter
into a legal contract in pursuance to
his bid and furnish a surety bond
in the full amount of the contract
price guaranteeing the faithful per-
formance and completion of said im-
provements according to contract.
Each bidder will further bo requir-
ed to exhibit to members of said Com-
missioners’ Court at or before the time
set for opening of bids, a working
model fo rthe particular lever locking
system and a full sized sample of the
hardened steel grating he proposes to
use.
Payments for said improvements
will be evidenced by Edwards Coun-
ty interest bearing warrant.
If satisfactory bid is received, the
said Commissioners’ Court will award
contract for said jail work and appur-
tenances at the courthouse in Rock-
springs, Texas, during the regular
t^rm of said Court beginning on the
13th day of August, 1928.
The right is reserved to reject any
and all bids.
