CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
SERVICES
That Jesus Atonement furnished
an example whereby mankind in
every age can work out their salva-
tion, is the theme of the Lesson-
Sermon entitled “Doctrine of Atone-
ment” to be read in all Churches of
Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, April
22.
The Golden Text is from I Timo-
thy, and reads, “There is one God,
and one mediator between God and
men, the man Christ Jesus; who
gave himself a ransom for all, to be
testified in due time.” Jesus said
of his followers, “My sheep hear my
voice, and I know them, and they
follow me” (John ,10:27).
Mary Baker Eddy says of Jesus'
mission in the Christian Science
textbook, “Science and Health with
Key to the Scriptures,” “Jesus of
Nazareth taught and demonstrated
man’s oneness with the Father, and
for this we owe him endleess hom-
age. His mission was both individual
and collective. He did life’s work
aright not only in justice to himself,
but in mercy to mortals,—to show
them how to do theirs, but not to
do it for them nor to relieve them
of a single responsibility.”
The U. S. Naval Academy, An-
napolis, Mid., now has 3,600 mid-
shipmen. the largest number in its
106 years of existence.
