The Colln County Genealogy Society expresses sincere sympathy to our members
who have recently lost a loved one
Gladys Harrington, on the passing of her son, and
Jeanette Bland, on the passing of her mother
HARRINGTON
Joe Hunter Hamngton, 79, a lifetime resident of Piano and a member of one of the
community's pioneer families, died Friday, after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; his daughter, Cynthia Hamngton; his son, Freddie
Hamngton; and his mother, Gladys Harrington, all of Piano; his two stepsons, Todd Richards of
Richardson and Jett Richards of San Francisco; and by five grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the family present from 6
to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in
Wylie with burial to follow at Piano Mutual Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First
Baptist Church in Wylie.
Joe Hunter was born in Piano on Aug. 6, 1921. He was the son of Frederick Joseph
Harington and Gladys Haggard Bishop Harrington. He attended Piano schools and farmed in
the area. He loved the outdoors, hunting and raising bird dogs. He was a member of the First
Baptist Church in Wylie.

BICKLEY
Funeral services for Linnie Gladys Bickley were held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2001, at the
Farmersville First Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member for many years.
Gladys was born Feb. 21, 1906 in the Spring Hill community, the daughter of Robert Lee
Kimzey and Linnie George (Chapman) Kimzey. Both of her parents were members of pioneer
Farmersville area families. After attending schools in Spring Hill and Farmersville, she married
on Sept 17, 1925 to John Douglas Si' Bickley. He preceded her in death in 1976.
Gladys is survived by her two daughters, Jeanette Bland and her husband Richard of
Richardson, Rita Roose and her husband Afton of Farnersville, two grandsons, Kenneth
Roose, his wife Robin and their children, Melanie and Bryan of Garland, and Robert Roose, his
wife, Rosemarie and their children, Rebecca and Christian of Decatur.
