This book is the student text for a training course "designed to reacquaint inactive duty Air Force Reserve officers with the fundamentals and also with more sophisticated aspects of command and staff activities" (Introduction, p. v). It consists of six lessons: Command Authority and Leadership; Command and Staff: Organization and Responsibilities; Management as a Staff Function; Organization for National Security; Headquarters USAF: Organization and Functions; and Air Force Commands. Each lesson includes background information, review questions, and a list of suggested readings for further study.
