Bouden Hutcherson, prominent mer-
chant in Camp Wood is seriouly ill
in a San Antonio hospital, where he
underwent an operation for gall stones
several day* ago. Latest reports state
he was resting well, but no hope for
I his recovery.
G. T. Travis of Salem, Miss., is vis-
iting his brother-in-law Burnice Hut-
cherson and other relatives in the Con-
yon this week.
Mrs. B. J. Stewart, who was on the
sick list last week is able to be up.
W. J. Lockhart of Vance was a
business visitor in Camp Wood Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Pope and Mrs.
Nan Fields were Rocksprings visitors

vocally known that he is for Repre-
sentative R. W. Calvert of Hillsboro
for speaker and will back him to the
last ditch. Allred intimated that at
thc proper time he will come out open-
ly for Calvert and give his reasons
for supporting him.

J. F. Rhodes one of the first settlers
in Edwards County says he has been
in this county something over fifty
years and he has never experienced
a drought like the present one, and
still it continues; what little rain fell
was too late and not sufficient to be
of any benefit to range. If the govern-
ment dosen’t buy mutton goats and
sheep the loss will probably be great.

streams of water into the flame-black-
ened shell of the Kerns Hotel tonight
while authorities, checking the lists of
dead, injured and missing, estimated
the fatalities in Tuesday's holocaust
outlook was gloomy.
Colonel Embach said that although
most of the 1934 crop had not been
“moved." the 1934 crop was ready ti*
be clipped. He added that production
costs were about 30 cents a pound
while the prevailing market hovered
near 25 cents.
