Low Taxation And Close Prices on Merchandise
Is A. D. Dodson,s platform. The people of Scurry county dont need
to be taxed any more than is actually neccessary to keep the county
out of debt, but a certain tax has to be paid to run the government,
any more is an 1 imposition on the tax payers, and it is the duty of
every voter to investigate the records of c*ch officer and cast his
vole inteligently from the Governor down to the commissioners of
Scurry county. Sow one might /<>« the tax has not been raisd
but compare your tax receipts. I find I paid about 25 p?r cen^ more
this year than I ever paid before, and my property is not worth any
more than it was 12 months ago. Elect men to represent you that
will represent your interest both financialy and religiously.
When you buy merchandise buy with a view to getting the best
values for your money, you can only do this by investigation; first
find who handles the best brand of goods. I’ll give you a few names
of merchandise that is not questioned as to their quality and style.
Busbys hand sewed double welted buckskin gloves, Oregon City cow
boy pants, Union League shirts that are double stitched with silk
thread, long sieves 1 ng tail and well made, either with collars or
without, Hamelton Brown shoes that are full vamps not cut off at
the toe like most shoes, bottom and insouls are leather, you can
have them half souled and wear them again, when you buy Hamil-
ton Brown shoes you buy leather shoes. When you buy goods of
A. D. Dodson you buy goods that have stood the test for years.
Here is some items pi^ed that is good for you but hard on com.
petors.
An all woois^it worth $15 only $8.00.
“ “ *• “ “ $10“ $6.00
Some mixed three piec'4 suits $6.50 only $4.25,
Cotton suits worth $4,Oo only $1.25.
Mens all wool pants $2.25 only $1.50.
Merchants will tell you A D. Dodson is going broke or stole his
goods or he could not sell them so cheap, but what is that to you so
you get the goods at a bargain. Down high tax, down high priced
goods, go to a. D. Dodson’s where you will find big reductions on all
lines to make room for new goods that will be comming soon. The
panic never stopped A. D. Dodson from filling his counters and
shelves till they are loaded with nice goods. Banks may get seared
at panics, merchants tt'i e flight and cut off their credit. They
may loose co.ifi I “i • • in the people and the county but A. D Dodson
is and has been - •..> ••.» up more goods this year than any year in
his 15 years of i it*- nutile businsss in Snyder, he has confidence in
the people, his interest is their interest and vici versa.
Would give you more prices on goods but space is limited, come
and be convinced that you get better goods for the same money
from A. D. Dodson than any one else. Millinery goods are going
at cost now. When in town come round and rest with us.

Nice Land Deal
One of the nicest land deals
that have been made in Scurry
county since the panic, was the
sale by Snyder’s hustling real
estate agent, A. J. McDowell of
one-half section of land 13 miles
southwest of Snyder belonging
to H. C. Dyer. J. W. Matthews
of Tarrant county bough* the
land for a considertion of $9,000.

Gilbert McClinton, age 29
years, son of J. B. McClinton of
Clarksville, Texas, died at the
home of his uncle, J - H. Mc-
Clinton, in Snyder, Tuesday and
interment took place in the Sny-
der Cemetery Wednesday. Gil-
bert’s untimely death was caused
by that much dreaded desease
consumption. He left Snyder
about a year ago in good health,
and only returned a few weeks
ago in the last stage of the di-
sease. His father and mother
were with him when death came.
