NEW YORK, Feb. 17. — Texas
Gulnan's famous “300' Club was
raided by federal agents early to-
day.
The club was crowded with
nearly 200 Broadwayites, includ-
ing such well-known figures as
Leonore Ulrich, the actress; Hen-
ry Hull and Beatrice Lillie.
Texas was arrested and taken
to the 30th Street police station,
charged with possessing and sell-
ing liquor. The latter charge
was placed because she was al-
leged to have violated a court or-
der against having liquor on the
place.
Charles Miller, wajter; John
Oolden, waiter, and Harry Lift-
man, doorman, were arrested with
her.
Miss Gulnan was unable to gel
ball because of the contempt
charge, and six hours after the
raid she was still In the polico
station.
Eighteen “under-cover" agents,
including several women, all
dressed In evening clothes, made
the raid and the festivities ended
in the police station.

Members of St. John's Evan-
gelical Church will hold a ban-
quet Thursday evening at the
Parish Hall. The pastor, Rev. C.
Wolff, will preside.
Eight-minute speeches will be
made by E. A. Bolllger, Paul M.
Mueller and J. Phil Appel on the
following subjects: “The Church
in Sunday Clothes," “The Church
In Evening Dress," and “The
Church In Working Clothes."
Musical numbers on the pro-
gram will be presented by D. Grif-
fin and a male quartet.

of Thorp Spring College, will
speak Sunday morning and eve-
ning at the North Fort Worth
Church of Christ, 14th and Hous-
ton Streets.

AT AHAVATH SHOLOM
“Counting a People" will be the
subject of Rabbi A. Bengis at
Ahavath Sholom services, 8 p. m.
Friday. Ho will discuss the sig-
nificance of the first Jewish cen-
sus taken by Moses in the wilder-
ness.
Rabbi Bengis will speak in Yid-
dish 10 a. m. Saturday on “Gods
of Gold," when he will discuss the
making of the golden calf.

BIBLE STUDIES
Rev. E. J. Heurlin of Galveston,
president of the Texas Conference
of Luther Leagues, will give a
series of Bible studies at Grace
Lutheran Church Feb. 22 to 25.
A Convenient
The studies will be conducted at
7:30 p. m.
Grace Lutheran Church Is at
Hemphill Street and Broadway.

MISSION STUDY WEEK
Mission study week is being ob-
served at Mulkey Memorial Meth-
odist Church, 701 St. Louis Ave-
nue, with various organizations of
the church In charge of the ser-
vices each evening.
Missionary committee will direct
the service Thursday evening and
the Epworth League Friday eve-
ning.
Other services have been held
as follows: Sunday evening, by
the board of lay activities of the
church; Monday, board of stew-
ards; Tuesday, stewardship and
tithing committee, and Wednes-
day, Missionary Society.
Rev. T. E. Bowman Is pastor of
the church.

PLAN ACTIVITIES.
Plans for the “tag day" of
Weatherford Street Methodist
Church Saturday were discussed
at a meeting of workers Wednes-
day afternoon at First Methodist
Church, according to Rev. D. A.
McGuire, pastor of Weatherford
Street Church. Two hundred
workers are expected to partcl-
pate in the campaign, which will
be conducted one day to raise
money to pay off a mortgage.
Mrs. J. T. Bloodworth will di-
rect the “tag day." The workers
will meet at 8 a. m. Saturday and
the actual work will begin at 9
a. m. and close at 6 p. in.
“Ten organizations are using
the church," Rev. McGuire said.
“The butdlng Is In use every night
In the week. One-half the build-
ing Is devoted to community in-
terests, and there Is no other
structure In that part of the city
which can be used for purposes of
that kind. This is not only a
church building, but Is used foi
all good purposes to help boys and
girls."
BOYS* SERVICE,
special service for Boy Scouts
will be conducted at 7:30 p. m.
Sunday at Trinity Episcopal
Church, Lipscomb and Myrtle
Streets. The service will be held
by the Scouts.
