MEXICAN SLAIN
Mysteriously Shot Down
On Crump Street
Mystery, both as to the cause
and the circumstances, Monday
still surrounds the murder of Pe-
dro Vallejo, 35, Mexican section
hand, early Sunday night.
Vallejo dropped fatally wound-
ed at 17th and Elm Streets about
7:40 p. m.. after running for more
than a hundred yards with a
bullet in his abdomen. He died
an hour later in the City-County
Hospital.
Police believe that the slayer
was a negro. A razor was found
on the scene by O. W. Phillips,
Robertson & Mueller ambulance
driver.
C. D. Brooks, negro, 1715 Ste-
j venson Street, who was the only
witness to the shooting, told po-
lice he didn't (jnow whether the
assailant was white or black, or
what started the affray.

S.S.S. You owe It to yourself to
try S.S.S. It helps Nature build
up red corpuscles. It Improves
the processes by which the blood
Is nourished. It is time-tried and
] reliable.
“I suffered from Impure blood
—was weak, and I had lost so
much weight, I didn’t look nat-
ural. 1 had pimples and was also
bothered with a breaking out that
itched terribly. I also had bolls
one after another. I tried differ-
ent kinds of remedies, but noth-
ing did me any good until a friend
advised me to take S.S.S., which I
did. This was some time ago.
Now I feel well, and 1 am getting
along fine. S.S.S. stopped the
itching and it cured me of boils.
I advise all weak and run-down
people to give S.S.S. a trial. It
clears up the skin and makes you
strong and fills you with energy.”
