Finishing touches

Liberty Christian School first-grader Brooks Ward works on an art project using recycled
items. Mandy Welton’s art students learned about the importance of recycling by turning
trash into works of art. Fourth-graders made kaleidoscopes out of Pringles cans, and first-
graders used all kinds of small trash to make assemblages in the style of artist Louise Nevel-
son. Fifth-graders used plastic lids and soda can tabs to create an installation of a Wee Warrior
in front of a rainbow for Liberty’s early childhood education department.
