. Friday night when the Crosby Cougars hooked Up with the
Cleveland Indians.
And when the dust had settled, it was Crosby 96, Geveland
96'. ■
• It was an important victory in District 10-AAA South Zone
play for Lee Haywood’s Cougars. They are 24 and 16-3 on the
season.
Crosby took a 27-26 lead at the end of the first quarter and
held a slim 56-51 margin at halftime before Cleveland led 76-73
going into the fourth and final quarter.
Charlie Bass, a second team all-stater in 1972-73, had his
finest game of the season for the Cougars, connecting on 15 of
34 field goals and ending up with 36 points. Elyard David had
21, Irvin Robinson 15, Randy Marek 11, Joe Carter 10, Henry
Armstead' four and Tommy Yackel one.
Cleveland won the JV game, nipping Crosby at the wire, 60-
