Guide Set
For Buying
Wine Glass
How large should a wine'
glass be? One size wine glass
is enough, say experts. The
' wine growers have indicated
their preference for an all-
purpose, tulip-shaped glass
that holds about nine ounces.
It’s appropriate for any type
of wine, say the experts.
Wine may be served in any
glass, even a tumbler - but
somehow it seenis ta taste
much better in a stemmed
glass. This is more than the
beauty of that glass on your
table; it’s also because a
stem keeps your hand from
warming the wine.
In search for wine glasses,
first of all look for a large
size — so that the glass may
be poured only about half-
full.
A slight tulip shape, with
the top of the glass a little
narrower than the widest
part of the bowl, helps to hold
the wine's aroma and bou-
quet in the empty space
above the wine.
The next thing to look for is
absolute clarity — no colored
glass, and preferably no
etched pattern. This is to let
you enjoy the clarity and
color of the wine itself,
another part of its full enjoy-
ment.

tonio. Great grandmothers

A Slap In
The Face
DEAR SUSIE MAC:
When I read that you ap-
prove of children leaving
home to live in an apartment
just because they are 21, I
wonder if you ever had chil-
dren of your own. We
brought up children who are
now married and naturally,
gone on their own. But if
they'd left us to go and live
with a friend in an apart
ment as you suggest, believe
me, I wouldn’t have been
anxious to go hang curtains
and make special dishes like
you say.
Some children say, “I love
my parents dearly, but I
want'to be on my own, in an
apartment.” When you love
someone do you warp to
It’s a reflection of your

ready to try his wings — not
a slap in the face.
leave them? Don’t you think
that it’s most selfish and un-
grateful for children to do
that? I think it's a slap in the
face!
If they feel like that. I'd
, just naturally feel it's a poor
way to say thank you. And,
with a broken heart, I’d say,
I don't need you either
G.M.C
DEAR GMLC.:
From the moment of birth,
raising children is a process
tt slowly letting go. We love
them, protect them. »ptnk

Accuses Her in Front
of Kids
DEAR SUSIE MAC:.
My husband figures he can
go and come whenever he
wants, but I can’t go any-
where unless I haye our
three children along because
he will not stay home with
them. This has been going on
for nine years, ever since
we've been married
If I go to work and forget to
call home when he’s there,
he says Eve been out with
some other man. He’s ac-
cused me of going with every
man I speak to.
: When he’s drinking things
get worse. He tells our chil-
dren I'm no good, that I go
out at night when he and they
are asleep. He says nasty,
dirty things about me right
in front of them.
Please tell me how I can
handle this problem. It’s
breaking up our home.
