Will Ask
Re-election
by KIKA
de la GARZA
We are back in business
on Capitol Hill with the
opening of the second ses-
sion of the 91st Congress,
and we face a work sched-
ule that should keep us busy
enough that we will stay out
of mischief. Part of my own
job, as I see it, is to tell
you what I am doing as your
Congressman, so this week-
ly report will be coming
along regularly.
Thanks to the newspapers
and the radio and TV sta-
tions of the 15th Congres-
sional District, I can stay
in touch with the home folks
about Washington on matters
of interest to them.
This month marks the be-
ginning of my sixth year as
your man in the U. S. House
of Representatives. My pur-
pose now is the same as
when I started—that is to
serve you to the best of my
ability.
Some people say that a
Congressman, like good
wine, improves with age.
And certainly it is true that
under the seniority system
prevailing in the Congress
a member's influence and
his ability to get things done
grow year after year.
I would like to continue
to represent the 15th Dis-
trict in the Congress. My
contract is up for renewal
this year and I will be a
candidate for reelection.
