FHA Officers Meet,
Plan Activities,
At Red's Lake
The 1965-66 FHA officers met in
the Home Economics Building of the
Fairfield High School at 4:30 p.m.,
Monday, June 14, and from there de-
parted to the Clifton Childs’ cabin at
Red’s Lake to plan the chapter’s
year’s activities. The officers attend-
ing the executive council meeting

to her home in Quincy, 111. after

sons’ briefly Sunday morning enroute
to Mexia to attend the funeral of her

• Stewards Mill News

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bush and two
children of Donaldsonville, Ga., visit-
ed with the Frank Braggs Tuesday.
They are enroute to Roswell, New
Mexico.
Mrs. Sue Thornton of Muskogee,
Okla. is spending the summer vaca-
tion days from her teaching job with
jSue and Carder Thornton.
Visitors in the home of the C. F.
Hortons over the weekend were: Mr,
and Mrs. E. B. Pruitt and two daugh-
ters, Becky and Cheri of Midland,
Mr and Mrs. John D. Sallee of San
Antonio, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Pruitt,
Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Sallee of Fair-
field.
Mrs. E. B. Pruitt and your report-
er found the fishing pretty good “in
the tanks behind the barn”, together
we caught five, two and one-half
pound channel cats. Of course we
threw the “small” ones back. I see
now how this fishing kinda gets into
your blood. Gosh but it sure does
something to you when you pull that
line out of the water with a big fish
on it.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bragg made
a trip to Cleburne State Park Sunday
where they met with the Red Hor-
tons for a picnic lunch.
Miss Mary Sue Thornton of Dallas
visited with Sue and Carder Thorn-
ton over the weekend. Sue, Mary Sue
and Mrs. Sarah Thornton went to
Waco Saturday.
Charles Marc, Rebecca and Melin-
da Robinson have returned to their
home in Centerville after a two
weeks visit with Mr. and Mrs. Char-
les Mack Robinson and their grand-
parents.
Glad to hear that Mr. Paul Bon-
ner is feeling much better and is
home now after a week in the hos-
pital in Fairfield.
Mrs. Margie Bass’ dinner guests
last Thursday night were Rev. Harry
Glenn Bonner, Mrs. Bonner and three
children, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Ray
Bonner and Keith and Mr. and Mrs.
Neil Bass, Donna and Dave.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gamewell of
Austin and Mrs. Ruby Kate Richard-
son of Kirvin visited with the Wea-
ver Robinsons Thursday afternoon.

been visiting his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Ramon Kirgan, while his wife
and daughter, Melissa, visit relatives
in Virginia.

Patricia Donovan and Judy Pillans
were unable to attend. Others pre-
sent were: FHA sponsor, Mrs. Alli-
ene Allen; FHA Chapter Mother,
Mrs. Earl Speed; Mrs. C. E. Childs
and Mrs. C. E. Childs Jr.
After swimming in the lake the
girls were fully revived with chick-
en, potato chips, baked beans, pick-
les, olives, fruit salad, cake and
tea. Chapter President Baibara
Speed brought the joyful feasting to
an end with the real purpose of the
meeting, to plan the year’s activities.
Later everyone snacked with chips,
pimento cheese sandwiches and cold
drinks.
To everyone’s agreement, the offi-
cers selected a uniform to be worn
at local and other FHA activities. The
uniform will be a red a-line jumper
shift that can be worn with or with-
out a blouse. A Future Homemakers
of America emblem with each offi-
cers' title will be sewn to the uni-
form.
The year’s activities planner! or
discussed included regular chapter
meetings, FHA Week, projects, ob-
jectives, program dates, program
speakers, exhibits, a style show, en
tertainment and recreational ideas.
FHA’ers this year will stress indi-
viduality; good health; the encour-
agement of purposeful goals; the de-

velopment of a code of ethics; good j WSCS Holds Annual
family relationship: the encourage-
ment of Americans to recognize and
fulfill their responsibilities as citi-
zens; the understanding, respect and
appreciation of heritage, customs and
beliefs of all peoples of the world;
and the encouragement of participat-
ing in activities beneficial to indivi-
duals and others. Truly these FHA’-
ers face the future wth warm cour-
age and high hopes.
