The past two week’s bad weather has
drawn stock worse than we have ever
noticed, even at a later date.
One of onr friends handed us a clip-
ping (received here in a letter) from a
Western paper, published the 15th inst.,
in Haskell Co., and that they thought
we should take action upon, but we fall
to see wherein we (as a local writer)
have written anything to justify the
editor of that paper taking us to task,
and fully realizing that we conld do
W eat Texas no harm, if we even wished
ever so much to do so, and that these
men, whoever they might be, oould do

feeling more sorrow than anger, because

been imposed upon. We believe so. and

the next twelve months, and do so with-
out any assistance from us or our
friends, in showing the animons behind
the article. We inclose the article, but
it is too long to publish, so, we will say
‘that we suppose it to be an honest effort
upon the editor’s part to be gentlemanly
and courteous, and from his view point
and his associations, as set up in that
article, we suppose that he conld not
see it as anything else but a friendly
j notice and comment upon onr local as
i he did, although we may think jie has
overstrained himself this time. We
