Fifteen visitors were present
in our services Sunday and we
were very happy that each one
came to worship with us. Thirty-
four teachers and Sunday School
workers were present and each
class had a good attendance,
however, we were sorry because
of the absence of some of our
regular members.
We regret the loss of a faith-
ful member and worker, Bro.
Jack Lee, who passed from this
life Monday morning. Bro. Lee
was won to Christ and bap-
sized into our church two years
ago and since that time he has
been faithful to his church and
his pastor. Very few Sundays
has he missed his Sunday
School class since becoming a
Christian. Our prayers are with
'Bro., Bill Lee and Mrs.i Mary
Mary Gordon in their great loss.
Plans are now made for our
Homecoming next Sunday at
our church. We will have our
.regular Sunday School and we
hope to_have 200 present. We
hope to have either Bro. J. P.
Jones or Bro. H. L. McKissack
with us for the morning mes-
sage. We plan to have some
part of our church life given
^y a member of our church Sun-
day afternoon along with the ap-
pearance of the Girls' ' Choir
from the Mexia State School.
Dinner will be served at noon
by the ladies of our church. We
do not insist that the former
members leave their own ser-
vices and attend with us but we
do want as many present as
possible.
The pastor united in marriage
Bro. Deward Mullen and Mrs.
Margie Nell Lambert in holy
matrimony last Friday night in
the Gene Davis home. These are
faithful members of our church
and to each of these we wish a
full, happy married life.
