WHY CARRY
INSURANCE
Trouble, they say,
Runs in cycles of 3.
And it recently hit
3 times
In one man’s family.
A ruptured appendix
Sent his wife
To the hospital
For an immediate
Operation and
Unforseen expense
A drink of cleaning fluid
Sent his
Infant son
To the hospital
With a temperature
Of 103 degrees.
More
Unexpected expense.
No sooner
Had the boy
Returned home
Than he contracted
Virus-X,
A stomach and throat ailment.
Hack to the hospital
For the boy—
This time with a
104 degree temperature
And more bills
For hospitalization
And medicines
And doctors and nurses.
Our family hospital policy
Insures against
All of these
Unexpected tragedies.
Our insurance protection
Means that when
Illness strikes
A man can afford
The finest treatment.
When the hills flow in
He can pay them
Without having to
Dig into
His own savings.

Fairfield State Bank
Orchard keeping is a lot like
housekeeping. Both require work
but a clean orderly house or
orchard is a source of pride to the
family.
* We were handed this week a
clipping from The Houston Chron-
icle telling about a farmer near
Edinburg who had already ginned
85 bales of cotton off of a 80 acre
tract and expected to get 25 more
bales from the same land. That’s
almost 2 hales to the acre. While
we can’t expect yields like that
from our dry-land farming, we can
boost our present yields with
fertilizers, crop rotation and cover
crops.

One of our friends and cus-
tomers from out st the “Mill,”
Carder Thornton, brought us by
a little booklet titled “How to Get
Rich.” We’re not particularly
interested in getting rich but
there are times when we could
use a few extra shekels, so we
hurriedly opened the book. You
can imagine our disappointment
to see the advice “GO TO
WORK!” However, we want to
add to the book’s recommenda-
tion. our own. “SAVE.” This
bank can h^lp you do that.

From all we can find out, the

one of the best, if not THE BEST,
ever held in Fairfield,
