Ed Examiner and Ilroni
Man iuquirles have been made of
uieUn regard to grain drills and in-
consequence of those Inquiries 1 have
brought e > n a lot of them The wheat
sowing is progressing and no call has
been made for a drill
As purchasing agent of the Patrons
ofllusbandry it is my duty to meet
tho demand of the Patron ns far as
possibleant ui only way of ascer-
taining their wishes Is by noting their
Inquiries If I knew that there would
be a detuaud for gram drills at Muling
time and should wait for oielere I
shouldbe under the necessity of send
lug the orders to the manufacturers
ami then the bowing time would be
past before the machines would gut
here Guessrg therefore at the do
maud by the inquiries I have prepar-
ed to meet it and now iicrhap the
drills may lie over till another jear
While r am anxious to serto the
members of the Order and to prompt
them to their best Interests they
should regard my Interests and not
mislead me by Inquiring about things
they have no idea of buying into the
eipenfeand troublo of bringing artl
cUb here to lie on hand Either they
or I must loso by that way A farmer
however cannot lose anything by ee
curing good and profitable machinery
wheneveThe can get It 1The farmers
of Texas are rich uuw and now U the
time to lay the foundation for perma
nent prosperity There ir no better
way ot de > ing this than by providing
themsuhes with all the necessary Im-
proved agricultural implements and
machinery They havo mon y now
and cau buy cheap if they wait they
may he driven to the necessity of buy
ing on time at high ricos and at
heavy rates of interest

Tho white under three mlnutoarapid

result maybe attained by putting the

The heat of the water cooks tho eggs

tlnued MI wish I could say foreign affairs
nearer home were as satisfactory as our re
lations with Chins A partial revolt in
Turkey has produced a state of tblnga such
as often become critical The forbearance
on the part of tho great powers utme
diately interested produced an effect such
as some mouths ago gave us tbe right to be-
lieve that the disturbance would eease Im-
mediately Since then a financial catastro-
phe has revived the struggle and gtfena
new aspect to all the circumstances and It
Is Impossible to deny that they are critical
tmtl still have great confidence in the for-
bearance of the powers I have not merely
truit but conviction that means wilt he
found to bring about a satisfactory settle-
ment und to maintain the consequent peace
of Europe I will not contemplate any
other result The Interests of the Imperial
powers lu reference to the question are more
direct but not more considerable than those
of Great Britain llejwas deeply conscious
of the magnitude of our Interests which
they are resolved to guard and maintain
them Mr Dlsnell alter a glowing refer-
ence to the Indian colonial and domestic af-
fairs concluded with these words when I
speak here again next year I hope to be able
to congratulate you upon tbe malntalnsnce
of peace and I trust dIso upon the success
or eur domestic policy so If an exigency
should arise and the Sovereign be called on-
to show her power and force she would be
able to appeal to a contented and ton tiding

Waco She will cruise some 60 mile along
tbe coast before returning
Capt J N Sawyer sgeutof the MaUorv
line also started out on board of one of the
pilot boats Id search of Ih nissing boats
Tbe only hope now entertained for the
safety of tho passenger and crew are fcaesd
upon the statement of OapW Irwin of the
steamer Buckhoru hoaaw the foremast
while out yesterday He reported the end
of the mast burned off apparently between
decks or very close to the > floo r which In-
dicated that the Bre waa below between
decks in which casethe fire may have been
burning aome time aud given the officers
and crew and passengers ample time to
leave tbe ship before theflames reached
the upper deck and w discovered by the
other vessels
It Is thought the crew and passengers may
have escaped on board the vraall boats tn
the darkness before the fire was seen from
the Fusl Ymma aud the steamship Ban
Marcos In this eveut they would hare
drifted with the sea about thirty or forty
miles westward be fore the wind changed
to the northwest
3 Another itateineiitiwhlcU would con Arm
the location of the fire Is tho City of Waco
had a small wooden case or house butlt
around the foremast for four feet and
above the top ot It and below It waa only
pointed Hlille tbe foremast was evidently
burned off below deck on the upper deck
forward Urge sjauntltfcs of oil were stored
as soon as tho flames reached this portion
of the vessel the entire upper portion was
swept away
The officers of the San Marcos states that
tbe flre w as first discovered about 2 oclock
nothing was found wrong with the unfor-
tunate ship until she appeared wrapped la
a sheet of flame
Later
The mate Qfthe English steamer Abdlel
which waa anchored Just to the leeward of
the Waco states that the fire was first dts
dovered about 12 oclock aud no one could
be seen on or about tbe vessel only a voice
was heard ss If ln distress suppposed to be
clinging to a spar but was lost sight of In
a few moments and nothing moreseeo or
heard As soon as steam could be
ranted the Abtlel moved up ss close a she
dare go to render what assistance possible
but they saw neither crew nor email boat
He thinks the ship was struck by lightning
whieh Ignited the oil aud burned every-
thing on the upper deck before tbe passen-
gers or crew could have left their births or
reach the small boats
The steam tug Uuckhorn returned from
the outside at 930 p ra Capt Irvine re-
ports having seen one of the Wacos boats
which had been considerably burned and
floated oil snd pieces of her cabin There
has been nu trace of passengers or crew dis-
covered It Is reported tonight that when
the steamship llutou passed tbe Austra-
lian yesterday ly lug at the mouth ot the
San Bernard river was signaled but the
Clinton not knowing of the 11 acoa disas-
ter didnt atop Hopes are now entertained
that pome tof the H aco people may have
been fayed on board the Australian la
case the pilot beat which Is now cruising
lu that vicinity does not treach here there
will be another steamer dispatched Test to
