The majority of the work by Elizabeth (Liz) and Maurice is based on erotic and action-filled
daydreams.Themes include the lack of popularity and abundance of insecurity, the horrors of
financial reality, lust and glamour, science fiction, fantasy, and album cover art.There is also a deep
interest with people's roles as submissive or dominant individuals as well as our sexual roles as
males and females.
Since 2000, Maurice and Elizabeth have worked collaboratively on both paintings and posters.
Both are natives of San Antonio and met at the University of Texas at San Antonio where both
received a Bachelors in Fine Arts. Influences include Jesus Helguera, Harvey Kurtzman, and Toshio
Saeki.
Selected individual exhibitions include New Paintings and Posters (Bismark Gallery, San Antonio,
TX, 2002) and Eliminating the Competition (The Peephole Gallery, San Antonio TX, 2001). Selected
group exhibitions include All Purpose Flour (The Honey Factory, San Antonio,TX, 2002), Art in the
Hood (San Antonio, TX, 2002), BFA Exhibition (UTSA Satellite Space, Blue Star Art Complex, San
Antonio,TX, 2002).
