with new micro wave elderly
members been saving for and
bought stolen. Strcctman Deputy
Sgl. Sam Bcllah saved the day with
information leading to the recovery
of the micro wave and arrest of out
of county subject just recently re-
leased from TDC. Sgt. Bellah a
retired Dallas police officer done
an outstanding job in Strcctman
area for many years and greatly
appreciated as a Reserve Deputy
who works without pay.
Freestone Co. War on Drugs
meeting at Sheriffs Dept. Training
Center with good attendance and
skits put on by DARE students
form Wortham, Teague and Fair-
field. Have some really brave
hoodlums in Kirvin, rocked homes
of elderly ladies in middle of night
breaking windows and other dam-
age.

Samons reportedly doing fine after
major surgery in Houston, hope-
fully be back on job fulltime

phone calls from young girls, like 1

Thirteen head of cstray cattle picked
up Fairfield area. Deputy on 1:30
a.m. disturbance call Southern Oaks
with subject well known causing
problems again, gone when arrived.
Cattle panels and cattle trailer
stolen from bottom pasture. Re-
port pickup stolen north of Fair-
field, returned shortly with no
charges filed. Young woman re-
cently assaulted by boy friend
dropped charges. Prisoner picked
up Navarro Co. jail.
Dept, meeting at Training
Center with all Dispatchers and
Jailers, hopefully very productive
for all. Grand Jury this week with
several cases presented including
burglarys and sexual assaults.
Deputy on big road wreck while
DPS working DWI.
Deputy w ith dog, Fairfield PD
and Game Wardens on midnitc
search of school building after bur-
glary. Fingerprint deputy compared
prints form evidence in this bur-
glary for Fairfield PD.
Sheriffs Dept. Captain to Waco
911 meeting, also visited areas with
911 in operation to observe their
procedures. Sheriffs Dept, adver-
tising and will open bids for new
Emergency Radio equipment this
week. This equipment to update
and improve our dispatching abili-
ties. This equipment will not be
bought with tax money but lrom
funds confiscated in drug arrests
and seizures.
Court with subject sentenced
to 6 months county jail time and
S2,4(X).(K) fine plus costs. Rocky
Branch family disturbance report.
Suspicious vehicle in Pyburn area
woods checked, abandoned deer

in vehicle. Gravel truck owner
notified on bad drivers complaint.
Suspicious transport truck loaded

gales on gas well location, just
“visiting” friend.
Subject wanted here on aggra-
vated sexual assault jailed Ander-
son Co., deputy returned to jail
here. Pickup hit cow on road 488.

Since my last writing we’ve had
Memorials, family gatherings and
funerals. Just a couple of weeks ago
Billy Carl Jolly passed away and was
buried in the Union Cemetery. Billy
Carl was the nephew of the late
George and Vera Fulton who helped
raise he and his younger brother
Mickey Jim. Mickey also passed
away last year. They are also the
nephews of Oma Whitaker.
On Sunday, June 2 Mrs. Ford
services were in Ricks Funeral Home
at2p.m. Mrs. Ford was the mother of
Beulah Gilliam. The Reverend Ste-
wart Farrell officiated with interment
in the Union Cemetery. Sympathy is
extended to these families.
Joe James Devine received his
B.S. Degree in Industrial Technol-
ogy and Industrial Technology
Graphics from University of North
Texas on May 11th. Joe Nell, James
and Hazel Leonard attended the
commencement. He is presently
employed in Grapevine, Texas.
The children of the late George
Huffman and their relatives met at
the cottage recently for their annual
get together.
Sunday, June 2 the Howell fami-
lies gathered at the Community cen-
ter for their annual family gel to-
gether. Boots from Sclmcr, Tennes-
see was here; also another brother Pat
from California and a brother-in-law,
Ted from Arizona. They and the
local Richardsons had a wonderful
get together.
Vcrgie Coburn Mansis from Ft.
Worth visited recently with Glada
Little and Gayncll Bond.
Wcnonah W. Johnson is home
from Houston hospital but will be
returning there soon. Good Luck and
prayers are for you, Wcnonah.
Elvis and Hollic Reed and her
children hosted aparty Saturday night
in Groesbeck honoring Elvis’s daugh-
ter-in-law Mrs. Mike McCosliln on
her birthday.
We’ve had several May, June
birthdays; Ed Kcslcy celebrated a
birthday the other day; Pat Oakes,
June 2; Julie Walker, the 21st; Little
Lee Walker, June 26th.
Gaynell Bond and Bill Johnson
were in Huntsville Saturday to the
high school graduation of Gayncll’s
grandson, Cobum.

Meeting At Housing Authority
On Saturday, June 8, at 2:30
p.m., Texas Advocates for Nursing
Home Residents- Teague Unit, will
have a very special meeting at
Teague Housing Authority, 205
South 5th, Teague, Texas.
The principal speaker will be
Mrs. Lou O’Reilly, president and
founder of T.A.N.H.R., headquar-
tered in Dallas. The organization
is dedicated to improving the health
and welfare of nursing home resi-
dents. Mrs. O’Reilly will be avail-
able to answer questions regarding
the issues involved.
The meeting is open to anyone
interested in nursing homes.
