Baseball Equipment Is Damaged
At least two juveniles are
believed to have broken into the
concession stand at the Neil Walker
field recently and arc responsible for
a large amount of damage to
baseball equipment stored in the
building.
The break-in occurred
sometime in the last three weeks
and chances arc good that someone
out there knows who did it. The
responsible parties took left over
paint in the concession stand and
senselessly poured it over gloves,
bats, balls, uniforms, helmets and
just about everything else in the
building. The parties also left some
obscene messages on the walls.
From looking at the scene, the
parties had paint all over their shoes
and clothes when they left. Anyone
remebering a youth or youths
coming in recently with fresh paint
on them are asked to contact the
Teague Police Department or the
Teague Baseball Association. A
dollar amount of the damage is still
unknown at this time.
The Teague Baseball
Association is a non-profit
organization which serves youths in
the Teague area. Shoe prints and
finger prints have been taken at the
scene by the Teague Police
Department.
youths who didn’t make the sale and
to bring up the sale price on the
animals who did make the sale.
Unofficial totals show that
buyers spent a total of $89,500 on
the top 100 lots of animals and that
close to S9.000 in additional money
was added to the pockets of youths
who entered the livestock shows at
the fair.
The $98,000 plus total this
year is up by about $13,000 from
what was spent at the 1992 sale.
Top dollar paid at the 1993 sale
went to Teague 4-H Club member
Katie Soehnge for her 1,175 Grand
Champion Steer. The Grand
Champion Steer was bought by the
"Big 12 Group" for S4.100.

Microfilm Reader/Printer
Moved To New Location
TEAGUE BASEBALL ASSOCIATION President Dean Gatzemeier
surveys some of the senseless damage done to baseball equipment
i recently. At least two youths broke into the equipment room and ruined
a large amount of equipment and uniforms by pouring paint all over it.
The l eague Police Department is investigating the case.
The Microfilm Rcader/Printcr
purchased in 1988 and placed in the
B-RI Railroad Museum has been
moved to a new location for the
convenience of the public and their
use of the equipment.
The rcadcr/printer is very
important for historical research,
especially for anyone interested in
an historical marker, or researching
a family tree. This machine makes
that work possible and much easier.
To preserve the original papers
containing information that they
might want in their research
program, the TEAGUE
CHRONICLE has been pul on
microfilm from the year 1906
through 1985. This information is
readily available to anyone wishing
it through the use of the microfilm,
which is kept in chronological
order for easy access. (
The use of the rcadcr/printcr is
available at no charge to the public
(unless copies arc desired) and
individuals arc urged to take
advantage of the machine at it's
new location in the foyer of the
Teague Chamber of
Commcrcc/Economic Development
Corp. offices located at #1010 E.
Business 84, Teague and will be
available for use from 8:00 a.m. to
5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The members of the
Committee who organized the fund
raisers and purchased the
equipment feel strongly that this is
an asset to anyone interested in
historical events, family events, and
to the students who need assistance
in school research papers. They
urge everyone to take advantage of
the facility.
