A big rodeo and match roping
between Lloyd Mitchell of Rock-
springs and George Epperson Of
Cherokee, two of the best ropers
in the state, will take place at
Walter Schmidt’s Station, 5V2
miles out of Fredericksburg on
the San Antonio highway, Sun-
day afternoon beginning at 2 p.
m. The purse for the match rop-
ing is $300.00 with each roper
getting six calves.
Rodeo events will include:
Calf Tie-Down, Bareback Bronc
Riding; Ladies’ Barrel Race,
Brahma Steer Riding, and poss-
ibly other interesting contests.
The rodeo is sponsored by Wal-
ter, and Bobbie Langehennig with
Lemuel Jones in charge of the
loudspeaker system.
Barbecue will be available for
dinner, and supper and a dance
will conclude the days’ activities
at Schmidt’s Hall.

night and Wednesday with her
son, Lee Goff and family.

Mac Scarborough and daugh-
ter, Miss Peggy, took his father,
J. M. Scarborough, to Driftwood
last Thursday to attend the Old
Settler’s Reunion.

July 15, at a Freedrieksburg Hos-
pital. Congratulations.
