Nursing Home News

We have new rocking chairs on
our front porch. They are so
inviting. I can hardly pass without
sitting for a few minutes and they
rock soooo good. The “We care
volunteers” brought them for the
pleasure of the residents and
visitors. They are very
comfortable and remind me of the
rockers Grandma used many years
ago, big and sturdy. Back in those
days rockers were hand carved
and they look like they were made
my hand. Thank you volunteers
for the many, many good deeds
you do for our residents.
Things are kind of quiet at
Western Hills this week, after
such a busy month of May it is
well deserved. The rainy weather
makes us all lazy and sleepy and
content ft stay and enjoy the
weather from the inside out. We
Will enjoy the normal activities
which is bingo twice,
shuffleboard, popcorn, Thursday
gospel singers and Bible study. I
may have made an understatement
if the list above is any indication,
it may not be as quite as I first
thought.
I need to correct an oversight,
I failed to name Lillian Johnston
as a game winner last week. The
game winners for this past week
were: Grady Stokes, Martha
Wagner, Viola Auvenshine, Betty
Reese, Ollie Burks, Ona
McCullough, Willie Tupin, Edna
Hicks, Inez Fails, Cora Evans,
Nona Williford. Model Chapman
and Maxine Fenimore.
