The Annual Bazaar and Tea
given by the Cemetery Asso-
ciation last Saturday afternoon
was a decided success. The total
receipts were $136.00 The beauti-
ful wool blankets donated by
Mrs. Elo Wolters brought $46.00
E. J. Tomasco drew the lucky
number and was awarded same.

Jeffrey spent Sunday in Austin.
Mr. Macha states they left an
automobile fire in Shiner and at
6 oclock in Lockhart witnessed
the burning of 4500 bales of cot-
ton at the big ware-house. The

County Engineer Koether an-
nounced last week that the
Schulenburg-to-Gulf Highway
through Yoakum, is to be topped
with concrete from Schulenburg
to Sweet Home at a point eight
miles north of Yoakum. The
county commissioners of Lavaca
County have secured State and
Federal aid on the highway and
the work will begin before the
end of the present year, it is re-
ported.
