l r.i the People of Palo Pinto and

entitled to know where every candi
■ date for public other stands on every
■ nuliiie question. It is tlieir rigtit to
' know evcryttnng about a man’s pri-
; vato record, so as to determine
whether tie is tit or unfit to be in-
trusted wit 1 i liieir commission. No
: man who holds public office lias any

i tiition ought to be to ascertain their
I will and carry it out. He who does
tills can and will render a patriotic
service; he who in ollioe refuses to
do it, is unmindful of ttie trust re-
posed in him and is a traitor to tlie
people who confide in him.
I am a candidate to represent the
Ninety-Eighth legislative district,
composed of the counties of Palo
Pinto and Stephens I have no per-
sonal ambition to serve. I have not
cared for it, andd owul not be a can-
d’date now if I did not feel that I
might, if elected, be of some servieo
and benelit to the people of this dis-
trict.
I believe in an honest and economic
administration of the affairs of the
government of this state. I believe
j that country schools should be so
| supported out of the finances of the
state so that the children can have a
nine months term, instead of the short
terms they have been receiving.
I believe in the abolishment of all
unnecessary ar.d useless positions,
and if 1 am elected, I will bend evey
energy I possess to accomplish that
end.
1 believe that a policy should lie
persued in tbl; state to develop its
wonderful resources. If I am elected
I shall devote mv time, energy and
whatever talent J possess to ascer-
taining the people s will ano interest
on all public questions, carrying out
that will and attending to their inter-
