FBLA Honors
'Senior Members
The Future Business Leaders of
America held a party May 2 during
homeroom period in the high school
cafeteria.
The Junior members of the FBLA
gave a party for the Senior mem-
bers.
Lime sherbet punch and cookies
were served. The party committee
* consisted of Thresea Killion, chair-
man; Mary Murrell, Juda Bodiford,
Crystal Brooks, LaDonna Johnson,
'and Pat Caraway.
Pat Caraway gave a comical read-
ing of what the Seniors would be-
come in the future.
At the close of the party Bettye
Witherspoon, this year’s president,
gave a speech thanked Juniors for
the party.

Library Club
^elects Pins
- “Library Club pins were selected
by the club Monday, April 25, in
their regular meeting in the library.
. Several pins were discussed before
the group chose a group of books
with Library Club written across
them. A guard with WHS and 1960
will be attached to the- pins.
The pins will be awarded at the
end of the year at the awards as-
sembly.
. Girls receiving pins are Mary Lou
Deal, Janice Roberts, Martha Kach-
erly Jones, Sharon Thomson, Karen
'Slagle, Helen Lawrence, Lucy
Bragg, Dru Poulter, and Donna Ro-
ark.

Student Council
Ends Activities
Student Council members met for
the last time for this year 1960, May 9
Committee chairman gave reports of
their committee activities throughout
the past year. The council’s gift left
to the school this year is waste cans
at each entrance and in the Student
Lounge and one more electric fan
for the class rooms. A committee
was appointed to get these gifts. Jan-
ice Cowling, chairman, with Mike
Rhoten working with her.
Council members for next year
were elected from the homerooms.
Installation of next year officers was
held Wednesday, May 11.
The last social activity of the Stu-
dent Council was held Wednesday,
May 24. The group went to Vance
Godbey’s for Barbeque dinner.
Those that attended were John
Vaughan, Bettye Witherspoon, Caro-
lyn Rhoten, Nancy Doss, LaDonna
Johnson, Bill Owen, Rickey Shaw,
Ronnie- Pickard, - Don Glenn,. Jerry
Johnson, Jesse Williams, Darlene
Pearson, LaJuana Hoi’stmann, Bob-
by Frysinger, and Barbara Ziegler.
The sponsors were Miss Francis
Smith, Mrs. Vivian Davis, and Mrs.
Murie Springfield.
FNA Installs
New Officers
Carol. Herrington was installed as
president of the Future Nurses of
America, May 9, by out going pres-
ident Virginia Danley, Other officers
installed were Joan Phillips, vice-
president; -Francis Dawson, secre-
tary - treasurer; chaplain, Lilly Brad-
shaw; parliamentarian, Deans Sha-
han.
Speeches were made by out go-
ing officers and the new officers.
Mrs. Margie Keis was presented an
orchid by the club.
Refreshments were served after
the installation service.

rival of the real queen in a play which
