In a recent “Chit-Chat", I
reviewed the T.V. movie. The
Good Old Boys by Elmer
Kelton. •
Since then, I have had
several calls about locals who
were in it.
Melba Thpin and others
called to tell me that Bobby
Smith of Sidney appeared in
the film three times. Once he
was a cowboy sitting on the
fence and the other times he
was one of the bettors.
Bobby’s wife, Quin French
Smith, teaches in Comanche’s
Primary School.

My granddaughter-in-law,
Lance’s wife, Jan, told me that
Jeff Gore, former Youth Di-
rector at Fist Baptist Church
in Early was the cowboy with
the handle-bar mustache, who
made several appearances.
Jeff is also a cowboy poet,
country and western singer,
and a gospel singer, who lives
in Austin.
