year Tkrleton added a new
competition patterned after
the popular Physics Olympics.
The physics events were the
mouae trap car race, paper
bridge build and egg drop.
The Gustine team came in
4th with a styrofoam boot
and rubber band, suspension
system, designed by Calvin
Mfflmrn, which safety carried
the egg from the third floor
of the Science Building to
the concrete aide walk below.
The egg drop boa was entered
fay Daniel Hungerford, Jacky
Haggard, Dusty Rogers, and
Joan Raster.
EDDIE NOHTHCUTT
Mr. Northcutt graduated
from Lakeview Centennial
High School. After high school,
he attended East Ibxas State
University. Then, he attended
Southwestern Seminary and is
now working on his masters
degree at Tkrleton.
Mr. Northcutt and his wife,
Karen, have two boys • Char-
lie, age 9 and Graham, age 0.
In his spare time, Mr. North-
cutt enjoys running, fpotball,
golf, reading and gardening.
He says that his biggest ac-
complishment is becoming a
teach, and the students at
Gustine are glad that he did.

Gustine’s , second feature
teacher for March is Mr. "ferry
O’Dell. He is a high school

His family consists of
wife, Donna, an eighth grade
daughter, Tiarra, and a fifth
grade son, Shawn. His hob-
bies indude roping, hunting,
and working cows. However,
above it all, Coach O'Dell likes
sports, and under his direc-
tion, many students at Gus-
tine are

Deedra Long placed 2nd in
the Jr. High Science com-
petition. Daniel Hungerford
placed 6th in High School
Number Sense. Suzette Hag-
gard placed 8th in Jr. High
Number Sense. The math and
science competition included
about 20 school of all sizes
from Crowley to Archer City,
so Deedra, Daniel and Suzette
are to be congratulated for
their accomplishments.

On or about March 16, a
camping trailer located at a
hunting camp on FM 690
near the Brown County line in
southwestern Comanche was
broken into by a burglar who
pried open a window. Among
the items reported taken were:
a Kenmore microwave oven, a
color TV and radio (8 inch
by 10 inch screen), two sleep-
ing bags, two insulated cam-
ouflage coveralls, and some 12-
gauge and 20- gauge shot-
gun ahell8. Also taken were
some .203 caliber and .SO-
SO caliber bullets, two Radio
Shack walkie-talkies, a voice
activated FM headset, and 40
pounds of packaged deer meat.
The owner reports his loss at
an estimated $820.
Anyone having any informa-
tion or suspicions about this,
or any other criminal activ-
ity is asked to call Comanche
County Crimes toppers at 916-
366-3737. Crime stoppers will
pay up to $1,000. for informa-
tion that leads to the arrest
and indictment of a violator.
Callers will not be asked for
their identity.
