THE PRESIDENT-EDITOR'S DESK.....mi..m Once upon a time, as all good stories begin, there was a small group of Dallas residence who were interested in genealogy and the preservation of local history. On October 26, 1954, these individuals band together and formed what was known as Local History and Genealogical Society. The Charter for this organization was granted on November 12, 1955. It was 23 years later [1977] that the name was changed to Dallas Genealogical Society. We pay tribute to those who gave us the foundation for what has become one of the largest and finest Genealogi- cal Societies in the United States.
