So far as learned the facts aro as
follows: Mr. Nicholson was hi Dal-
las and Intend ng lo return home tool
tho Knty train by mistake. He got
orr nt Unriand and It seems had
started to walk up tho track rowing
this wny. When about a mile this
side ot Curiam! ho was overtaken h..
the northbound passenger train that
Is duo hero at 1:1!0 p. m. Tho cugl-
noefxaw Mr. Nicholson' too late to
check the trnln although ho nppllod
all the powur to tho airbrake and
the train struck tho deceased and
passed over his body which was
found under the tear coach. Several
weio on tho train. who Know the de
ceased and tho body was placed on n
cot and brought to this city tho tialn
nrilvliig an hour late. Tho novvB had
spread and a largo number of fi lends
wore at thu depot when tho train ar-
rived. The remains were taken to I).
V. Ilunlson's undertaking establish
moot where they were prepared for

John 1. Nicholson was born hi Hunt
county In 1849 on South Sulphur
north of White Hock where lie was
roared. Ho was u sou of DfT'aiid Mrs.
John Nicholson Ills father was a
pioneer phsslclan of North Texas
Tho deceased was admitted to the
bar of Hunt coirfity in 1874. in lSTli
ho was elected Justice of the peace
at this place and he served one toun.
In 1877 ho was married to Miss Hlla
Cushman and to them were boln livo
children thoy being Mis. J. H. John-
son Fort Worth; Ollu and llalph
Nlcholsoiiof this city; Walter 1'ocn-
tello Idaho and Dart of Kort Worth.
After serving as justice of tho peace
ho took up tho general practice o!
law and waj uniformly successful.
Ho was a genial man nnd bad many
warm friends who will lead of his
death with sonow. Tho family have
1 the sincere sympathy of friends In
I this bereavement.

dence of Mrs. .1. .7. Matthews at 10:30
